Yes. it comes with those plastic guards the directs air to the radiator. I have a custom shroud that seals up against the radiator really well. Heat under the hood was a problem with the stock V8…so a vented hood would let a lot of heat escape, but not really the look I want right now. I will see what happens during the Summer since I have moved South. It's about 70 degrees right now.
What I have been reading is that fluctuations (within a certain range) are normal. The reason that most folks don't see fluctuations is because temp gauges are buffer to stop them from happening. The Ultra Gauge is reading exactly what the engine is seeing.
Thanks you guys!

I am trying to keep the car as sleeper as possible. I do have vents around the headlights on the passenger side to help the intake get cooler air.
I had a hotly mod'd Celica that had a vented hood. I used a bulge like the old Mustangs. Under that bolted on bulge was a hole in the hood. The rear of the bulge had an opening that would let heat escape. It worked well

I did this on a turbocharged FX16 I used to have. The surprise is that air is pushed in when moving, vs being pulled out. Standing still, lots of heat would come out. The area in from of the windshield is a high pressure area. I even did test with strings affix (like a tuft test).

You are not wrong…it does, but the air hits the windshield of a car like this as if the windshield is a wall. So it slows down increasing the air pressure. On something like a Lambo -- with a slicked back windshield -- airflow is probably different
