Default 5.3 swap into a 68 chevelle, HELP!!! tons of questions

Im sure this topic has been beat to death, but maybe not for my specific year model car. We have a 5.3 out of a 2002ish year model chevy truck and 4l60 tranny from the same truck. We have sent the harness off to be reworked so the electrical part of this swap is under control. Our questions are concering all the parts we will need to actually make this motor work in my car as far as intake, oil pan, headers, etc... im sure the list is pretty long and ill never think of it all. Im looking for someone who has done this swap and can give me a list of what all it will take and some venders to get it from if thats not too much to ask.... any help is great and thanks in advace! car will be stock height and has an ss hood on it that we are keeping

If anyone has a 68 that has done this swap and doesn't mind calling to answer a couple questions I'd appreciate it! 6018076057 Ricky.

All 68-72 A bodies are virtually identical. First, read the sticky and links to and 5.3 or 6.0 iron truck block swap. There are several ways and parts combos to do it.

Pretty much everyone with a build thread has done the swap, and as mentioned your setup is going to be the same as all the others in terms of what you are working with. Factory front disc vs front drums cars having the brake distro block in different places are all that pops to mind as something to watch out for, and that's only when buying headers (on disc cars the block is on the inside surface of the driver's frame rail, right where your headers need to go). Easiest approach would be to find a build you like and more or less copy it.

I did a 72 Olds with a 5.3 and Muncie 4 speed. There are several 5.3/6.0s with auto trans that will tell you plates, exhaust, etc to use.
