My track/street 240sx LS Swap

With all the time and money being spent on this, especially damn near $2500 bodykit, why did you keep the dreadful S13 subframe?
I used to love "your" rocket bunny kit until the Bensopra X rocket bunny kit was made

I do love their new kit for sure! But with the amount of street time this at will see there's no way I could keep it clean with the fenders on the new kit. And the new kit is well over $3k. I also think the old one has more of that stockcar look I'm going for as opposed to the all out race look of the new kit.
And I'm sure my S13 subframe will work just fine. Are you asking why I didn't upgrade to an s14 subframe or why I didn't have a fully custom one built?

The X kit is exactly $3k.
S14 subframe; any custom subframe or cross manufacturer subframe is idiotic unless you're running a quickchange diff. The S14 has a much better suspension geometry and the anti-squat built in will be nice when you're putting down more torque than a KA/SR/RB. The q45 diff also makes me confused, but everything else seems nice so far.

It won't really be a competition car so I doubt it would be all that noticeable, but that's always something I can do down the road if I get bored. And the q45 diff is a limited slip an it has taller gears which will be nicer on the street.

And since you're gonna track it some, I would still think the S13 subframe would be a bit deleterious to performance. But ya, if you're just trying to do DEs or something, then that's probably fine.
#128
LSDs don't have "gears" except some having spider gears, but you mean the final drive. You can put on a 3.5 crown wheel on any R200 sans that one pathfinder CW.

have you actually done a gear swap? there are a lot of variables between r200s and it goes beyond the pathfinder.
maybe you shouldnt be so quick to nerd out and correct him if you dont actually know.

Again, no gears in an LSD except for spider gears, as aforementioned. In the diff housing, then yes, the CW and pinion.
Yes, I have, but a CW/pinion swap and a complete rebuild that involved plenty of shimming on both the pinion and diff itself, which was about two months of nightmares and insanely expensive Nissan shims.
But I was being a smartass and thought I threw in a wink face emoticon there... Guess I forgot.

I did mean a final drive ratio yes. A lot of people refer to that has having taller or shorter "gears". I think everyone knew what I meant. Plus I got a good deal on the q45 and didn't feel like spending a lot on a kazzor similar limited slip for the r200.

hold up, as in dont break, yes. the "lsd" part of it, not so much.
ive owned a ls2 s14 since 2010, and have had both j30, and q45 diffs in them.
they are good for nothing after the first couple launches/laps around the track/etc, once they get up to temp.

And someone sold a used Cusco RS on Zilvia recently for $450 shipped . So 'steals' out there do exist, you just need to comb diligently.

What are you running now?
