got the drivers rear quarter panel pathced up today. Also got the drivers door opening preppep and ready as well as the rear bumper. We're going to paint the bumpers to match the car. Only thing left to prep is the passenger door and the trunk lid. hopefully get some paint shot this weekend if the weather warms up.

more work that nobody will ever notice today, cleaned and painted the rear bumper brackets. I used natural cast color paint. Tomorrow I'm going to hang the doors and trunk lid back on the car and hopefully get the rear bumper installed also to just to see how it looks. As far as I can see the weeks ahead will be nothing but body work, I keep going back and forth on wether or not to install the engine and transmission before I paint the car. I really want to see them installed but at the same time I don't want overspray and dust from sanding and bondo to get all over my engine.

Doors and trunk lid are on and lined up. Also installed the rear bumper to get a feel for the look of it painted vs aluminum. Moving the car to the shop where we will be painting to do the rest of the body work this week. Here's a few more pics. I also picked up a set of 2000 z28 manifolds for my exhaust system. I know I'm leaving power on the table by not going with headers but I cant bring myself to spend $700 on headers. Maybe later.

Today we started cleaning out the paint booth that we will be using. Hopefully I'll have the booth cleaned and the car moved over there by mid week so we can start the body work.

Nice build bro, I cant wait to start working on my 1979z28, I just recently bought back my first car from my brother n law 2 weeks ago, a year after i sold it to him in 2008 he blew the 350 motor I had put into it, since then its been parked for the last 6 years & have to remove front end & replace bent subframe, pretty much exactly what your doing to your car & the ls swap of course with stock Lq4 & stalled 4l60e. Ill be following your build from here on out. Its going good for you man keep posting pics.

^^^Appreciate the feedback ls1jorge, it seems like I'm never going to get to start installing the engine with all this body work but hopefully soon I'll get around to that part and start giving you guys some valuable info. If you need a subframe I have a spare that's in a 77 just sitting around. What part of SA are you located?

You do,that would be great Im on the southside of San Antonio, Are you located in the surrounding area of san antonio too? Was the 77 camaro parted out? I was unsure what to start with either buy motor now or start working on frontend/bodywork, since I got back the car in its wrost condition.

I'm looking for a 78-81 front bumper cover, Both doors complete non pwr windows & passengerside z28 fender. How much for the subframe you want?
