My pleasure Ken. I am anxious to get your driving report once we have a sign of spring. I miss living south of the Mason-Dixon line...LOL

Can you post a pic of the dash pad when you get it back. I am currently doing my interior and just took the repo pad out to have it covered in the material I am using for the interior. I think my pad is pretty good but I know it is hit or miss with the repo stuff ( mostly miss ) .Thanks ,JOHN

Nice Sunny cool sunny day today and I got the Bug to get the Beater out and go to the Drag Strip...... Paid....went thru Tech....and pulled up to the line (Lot's of Prep)......LOL........When I got the Helmet out of the trunk I realized I still had all the normal travelling "Stuff" in the trunk.......Tool box, chairs, hydraulic Jack etc........LOL.......Made two passes......1st one just blew the tires off the car and had it sideways about a third of the way down the track..........2nd pass I drove it out and gradually got in it........2.3 60 ' time and went 12.21 @118..........Not bad for a Highway car........Easy 11's with Drag Radials.......But.......once is enough.........LOL

Ken very cool:
Plenty of racing in my background. With that 60' and that mph it will go WAY faster than 12.21...Awesome! What track?

Very impressive. Those LSA motors are quite the package in anything they're stuffed into. Sorry if I missed this earlier in the thread, but what's the weight of the car?

Default Vacuum reference and Steam vents LSA

Hi kwizz,

Fabulous read fella, very enjoyable and a great ride.

I'm building a LSA powered 1950 Chevy Pickup, its running (not driving but running) and i was wondering how you setup you fuel regulator, is it vacum referenced ? if so, where did you connect up the vacuum from ?

Would also like any information you have on the steam vent setup, i'm currently got them connected straight into the top radiator hose, how did you do yours ?

Cheers

I have a Vaporworx fuel pressure system.....It's the only way to go.....It uses a pressure sensor in the fuel line right at the gas tank.......the sensor talks to a module which in turn modulates the Voltage to the pump and supplies the volume the engine requires at any given moment......

www.vaporworx.com

The steam vent is hooked directly to a port in the radiator......but you can hook it into the upper Radiator hose also..........Lets see some pic's of your project............

Also.....depending upon which ECM you are using .......be aware that there is a torque management schedule in a normal ECM that pulls timing from the engine as it starts to make power to save the trans...........

Ken, shaft looks familiar. I just got one for the GTO. I had vibrations come in at 60 MPH and grow with the 3.5" steel shaft. High speed balanced and all...It just did not cut the mustard. My maiden voyage with the LS in the GTO and I could not resist. Took it up to 70 MPH and it was dead *** smooth. WOW! Can I have all of my time back that I spent chasing "fixes". This is a solution. Thanks Ken, very much appreciated, i shall look into the Vaporworx solution, however must say id rather use the holley regulator that i've already bought if at all possible.

On that note, would i connect the pressure regulator to one of the 2 vacuum pipes (behind the throttle body) ? I believe one of them is for power brakes (Which i do not have)

With regards to the ECM, i'm using a stand alone GM one supplied by Pace Performance to control the LSA. And a TCI EZ-TCU controller for the 4L85E trans. The TCU is connected to the ECU via the bulkhead connector and only uses Tac and TPS signals, plus the output shift connector on the trans (which means i can't plug the Engine VSS connector onto the trans as the TCU is using it).

Does the above sound ok to you ?

A couple of images as requested

re: fuel supply -- I'm using a Fuelab setup in my build. Their electronic regulator monitors return flow and modulates the pump's output based on that.

Yes, I've looked at the Fuelab unit, very nice, will give it a think.
