i skimmed through many of the old Spectra tank issue threads, is there a more current conclusion out on this issue? I was looking into the Tanks Inc. fuel tank when I stumbled on the Spectra idea. I would rather save money but also want a tank i know is decent quality to last and does the job. Is the Spectra useable? or should i just fork the $$ for Tanks Inc.?

I read the same threads and purchased a Spectra "2nd design" tank last week. Deciding factor was the evap ports are present on the 70-72 Spectra tank and not on the Tanks tank.
Spectra tank body quality is good. Filler neck was loose on arrival - shipping didn't help but original solder joint wasn't very good. 10 min of prep and solder in exchange for free shipping, we can do that
Replaced the supplied pump with a Walbro due to multiple reports of failures.
Don't read this as complaint I'm perfectly happy with how it turned out.

just came across that GM34BFI tank for sale on craigslist and now I am really curious if anyone knows if they fixed the tank since its priced pretty fair. I guess according to SUMMIT, the actual part is GMK-TNKGM34BFI . I dont wanna get a 'fuel injection' tank that i have to baffle and buy a pump for if its supposed to be complete plug and play but if anyone can throw in their last and final opinions it would be appreciated.???
I am set on the Tanks, Inc. tank at a little over $500 which is solid but if i can get this other tank for under $400 and its good than of course it would be worth it to get now. Thanks for the help in advance!

I had some issues with the Spectra tank, mainly the fuel pump. Cost $355 from Amazon with free shipping. Installed a Delphi, $75. The baffle of the second design has not been an issue since replacing the pump? I've seen the Tanks Inc tank and it looks nice too. Depending on internal baffle it might be a better way to go.
Funny, my Spectra filler neck was broken off completely when it arrived. It makes a great handle during shipping/handling.

Anyone have a part number for the Delphi pump?
Installed my Spectra tank 6-13, got 2200 miles out of the pump so I'm looking at the Walbro 225 or this Delphi pump. I'd also like to know if the pumps are plug and play?

I have Spectra Tank GM 37GFI replace pump was AC Delco EP381
Rock Auto shows it as alternate for GM partnumber 25163473 when you run that number through rock auto it gives DELPHI Part # FE0114 as the alternate, long way around but all I got.
