Default Is this belt routing ok?

The engine is a 2002 Lq4 6.0L with truck brackets on the Alt/PS Pump and a custom bracket for an R4 compressor on the top left with a rod end tensioner instead of a spring tensioner.
My main concern is whether or not it's "legal" to route the belt around the water pump before the crank pulley or if it "has" to come after. Seems like it won't be a problem.

What do you mean "legal?"
You shouldn't have any issues, the belt and accessories don't care. If you are concerned about inspections... why would they care?

I guess I meant "legal" in the laws of physics and such.

Physics. You mean the funny stuff that makes tires grip?

In that case, it will be fine. As long as the smooth side of the belt turns the water pump (it does in your drawing) it will turn the proper direction to keep the engine cool.

You'll be fine. Your plan is basically stock truck style routing except you are putting AC where the spring tensioner would normally be.

And you still have the engine rotation backwards... You do know these only rotate clockwise from the front, right? What happened to your other thread?

I always recall reading 1/3 min contact of pulley for less chance of belt slip on acc.

your p/s pulley looks way to thin on contact %

might add a I-pulley in to the center below alt and above pulley for p/s to make belt get more contact on p/s pulley .

and were is your tensioner setup ?

Ya, you're direction is wrong, but just drawing the arrows the other way fixes that.

I don't think you'll have enough belt on the power steering pully. Are you creating your own set up or using something that's known good?

Not sure what water pump you are using. .but check the rotation.. I know if this was a F-Body, you would have it going the wrong direction.

As long as the back of the belt is on the WP, you should be fine. I doubt the PS pump will slip, but if it does just add an idler pulley.

You'll be fine. I moved my idler down to one of the accessory mount bolt holes. It added a little more wrap to the crank pulley, but not much to the PS pump.
No problems in 3 years.

I wasn't getting the response I wanted. It seemed like that section was mostly for engine setups that originally had an LS in them. So there wouldn't be any reason for an ternate belt routing. You guys in this section are giving better and more input.
