Default New Dirty Dingo Mounts?

Has anybody used these yet? They look like the hooker/holley mounts accept they are adjustable. Im thinking about getting a set to try out.

I just got these, haven't had a chance to use em yet but i liked the idea of these out of all the others. Spent so much damn time reading "this" ones adjustment and that one does "this" inch forward but only "this" back. drove me nuts! Til i found these!

I used these as I already had some solid and urethane mounts http://www.ebay.com/bhp/lsx-mounts but wished I'd spent the extra $40 for the dirty dingos as the plate plus the mount made it nearly impossible to bolt up as it made the geometry of the engine about 1/2" wider. I had to use a 3/8 bolt and urethane mounts instead of the standard bolt just to install the engine and was impossible to use my solid mounts without drilling them out.

I used the sliders and like them. More adjustability is better than less.

I got his mounts and the welds were junk . cold welds .

his cust service SUCKED . yelling at me on the phone and said I didn't know anything .

and last I knew he changed from the pictured design to a all cut/bent design and no extra bracing welded in for the 2 ears .

I have the sliders as picture in the OP but, using factory frame mount with polyurethane bushings. No problem here. Being adjustable was nice.

I just picked up a set of the new Dirty Dingo mounts and I have to say they look great. I've been using the conversion plates and factory clamshells for two years, and getting the bolt through the mounts is difficult.
I've read a lot of good things about them on an LS1 truck forum, and with the exception of one very vocal individual, everyone likes them.

They were super helpful to me though. I bought my sliders quite a while ago and had a bolt break. When I called, they said that was the first version they produced and that they had a better model now, which the sent me for free. Even paid shipping. Maybe we dealt with different people or the same person in a different manner, who knows.
No complaints at this point.

Installation is much easier than the conversion plate and clamshell setup. Much more adjustment side to side than clamshells also. I wish I had done these from the start.

I'm thinking about using these as well. Has anyone got measurements of them? Especially the tabs that bolt to the engine mounts

I don't run those exact mounts you guys posted. But I do run Dirty Dingo Mounts in my Z31 300zx. I have nothing but great things to say about my mounts and the customer service I've received from Dirty Dingo. If your unpleased with your mounts I do believe Brent offers a full refund for the part itself if you ship them back undamaged to Dirty Dingo. Here's pics of my mounts. (Sorry about the filthy engine and bay)

jschnell64 email Dirty Dingo or call and ask for Brent I'm sure he can supply that information to you. He normally responds pretty quickly.

No offense NismoKid, but the design of those mounts is terrible. The original mount were meant to sit on top of where you bolted your mounts with the urethane inserts, so the engine just rested on pedestals. Your mounts now reversed the direction of the load and the engine is going to be trying to pull those mounts out of the pedestals, especially on the passanger side when the engine is torque over.

None taken. Funny the engine doesn't move. The slots are opposed. There's many people running these with no rotational/movement issues. I suppose you think it would be better to have my center of gravity sky high with my engine higher that my strut towers There's multiple engine mount developers that have ultized similar designs (without slots). I understand your concerns but I can tell you the engine doesn't budge . I've literally lifted the entire front of my car with my engine bolted in with these mounts. I don't foresee the bolts being pulled through my subframe horns nor do I see the grade 8 bolts breaking. Enlighten me with another solution that retains the factory subframe and has the engine as low as possible. The engine placement is crucial for center of gravity (COG). Maybe your seeing something I'm not. With thousands of these mounts sent out world wide I'm sure there would've been a failure by now. If a failure was to occur, it would've been made known already. Especially if their their car was torn apart by a LSX Only time will tell. If I'm the 1st to do so I will even make a Facebook account so the all of the intrwebs can informed.

Personally I would have cut those pedestals off the crossmember and maybe used C5 Corvette mounts.

I would've went that route if I was looking to extensively modify my front subframe/crossmember. But at the time that wasn't the case.

Not sure I understand the concern about the design but those mounts look pretty beefy to me. Almost unnecessarily beefy. About the only way I can see those failing is if a weld breaks. Stock V8 mounts are essentially glued together. The rubber could totally disintegrate and the mounts above would hold the engine in place.

As for the vette mounts I tried using them but the isolators are massive. Ended up going with the S&P biscuit mounts. And like said above had to make a custom cross member to get it to work. The one real advantage of vette style mounts is I was able to add shims to tweak engine height/tilt. It is harder to do that with side bolt mounts like the ones above.
