Default T-56 reverse lockout ?

donor engine and trans are from 02 Camaro (LS1 - T56) . Will the ECM handle the load of the reverse lockout solenoid, or does it require a solenoid to operate it? from what I see, it's wired directly to the ecm, but that seems like a lot of pull for a straight connection.

why not delete it?

Mine's disconnected (electrically), just push through it to get to reverse.

Why not make it work the way it's suppose to?

Because that takes work lol. I'm curious too because I'll be using a t56 with my swap.

I just hooked up my switch to the ECM, works like a dream. Very easy, switched 12 volt to one wire, hooked up the other wire to the ECM.
2004 LS1 out of a GTO.

I wired mine straight to ECM. Factory did it this way without issues. Why change it. Mines worked fine for 2 years now.

I have mine hooked up to a switched 12 volt source with the computer grounding the other wire. On another car I am doing for a friend that does not have a computer we are just going to wire the switched 12 volt source into the brake lights so it will only activate with the brake being pressed. It is a LT1 T56 but is in a 67 Camaro with a 396.

I just used a line lock switch on my stick. 12+ and ground the other. I have a Viper T56, so the vss is not connected due to the different signal output. I use a GPS speedo.

OK cool. thanks. it appeared to go straight to the ECM on my (poor) schematic, but I figured I'd better check before creating expensive smoke.

cheers,
