The HVAC system is deleted. I dropped the short block in and now in trying to put the passenger side head on, it contacts the firewall before it's even in position. I'd guess I'm 1/2-3/4" shy of making it.

Can you post some images of your mounts so I can confirm you were sent the right parts. There is definitely something askew for you to be having that problem.

Since I've never mocked-up a G-body installation using the G-force crossmember, I would suggest that you check your engine inclination angle relative to the bottom of the frame rail to get an idea as to where you're at with that characteristic. If the tailhousing of your transmission is sitting lower on the G-force crossmember then where it would be when using the Hooker G-body crossmember that will cause the cylinder heads to lean back into the firewall more.

It's at the stock level.
Added later: I just went out and jacked the trans up until it touched the tunnel. I'm still half a bolt hole off from getting the head on.

There's nothing off with your engine bracket/mount attachment as I can see in your photo that you have the passenger side mount lined up with the correct set of holes. Other than your engine/trans inclination angle being excessive, I can't see what the cause of your fitment issue would be. Here's a couple of reference shots of the engine in the Holley Monte Carlo SS that show the position of the back of the engine relative to the firewall.

Hooker Long tube headers With column shift linkage
I got this hooker set up. Everything is very nice. Thing that concerns me in the long tube headers fitting with the column shift linkage. I just set my gen 3 5.3 in last week. Next I'll be putting in my stage 2 4l60e. I have the hooker cross member. Now the shift linkages..
