Hi guys, I've got an LS2 with an '02 Camaro oil pan and Im trying to find a dust shield (flex plate cover) for my TH350 and a stock TH350 cover does not work. It hit the starter so I did some trim work to fix that problem, but once I got it up in place the oil pan on the motor pushed it back where the holes don't line up and it actually is hitting the tranny pan lip now.. It's close, but wont work. Does somebody make on that works for this combo? I did a google search and a search on here and didn't come up with anything. Thanks!
Most likely goung to just have to trim it some more. It doesnt really have to go behind the oil pan on an LS sincenthe oil pan blocks off most of the flex plate more than an original gen1 engine.
I've bought vehicles with them missing. Drove them for years with no issues. To me it would only be necessary if you are off roading your vehicle. On the drag car we don't run one, only trans blanket and flexplate shield. It's easier for tech to see the sfi sticker if they look.

Yeah.. Seems like they are missing on most cars I've bought.. Lol.. Just looks like something is missing. Thought if somebody made one, I would slap it on.. I can probably make mine work, but the more trimming and banging I do, the more cobbled it's looking.
There is a sheetmetal 4l80e TQ cover that is easier to modify than the aluminum cover. Used them on a few 4l80e swaps to non-Chevy engines. Original app was Express van.
You will be fine to run without one. I've put 6000mile on my 5.3/TH350 without a shield. Highway, side road, drag strip, gravel roads, speed bumps, 0 issues. Would I like to have one? SURE, but don't let it stop your project. Let us know if you do find a junkyard solution!

Flexplate Dust Cover for LS Motors with one piece housing transmissions
Those that want to run a flexplate cover on their LS engine with a one piece housing transmisson.
Start with a 700R4 metal dust cover from Summit Racing Flexplate Dust Covers SUM-G3883B. The motor side has
to be trimmed around the flexplate to clear crankshaft. The cover tabs that bolts to the transmission will have to modified to match the transmission. The starter cutout of the cover should be modified to clear the LS starter. The transmission cover side will require a sheet metal piece welded to it to completely cover the torque converter.
