Starting my S2000 LQ9 Build
Hey guys,
I'm new to this site and new to V8s, but I've been building drag Hondas for years now. I finally decided to build a Honda that has some torque! Lol. I'm going to leave the bottom end stock but port and build the heads, ARP head studs, custom cam, and use Import Muscle's conversion kit for the engine and rear differential. I only want 450-500 rwhp since it's going to be a street car. I will update this with new photos when I can, but I also need to hit 50 posts to buy stuff off of here lol. Any opinions on parts would be greatly appreciated. I've done a lot a research, but I am no means anywhere near an expert, so all recommendations are appreciated!
I have a pair of 317 heads that I was planning on getting ported and built, but is changing heads worth the price for an NA build with maybe some spray down the road?

I'm trying to post some pictures, but my phone isn't liking it. Anyone know what the differences are between the 2010-2014 Camaro SS and Non-SS differentials are? I need the 2010-2014 differential for the kit, and I want a 3.45 diff., but I'm having a hard time finding an SS one.

It doesn't look like that person is using a kit that is made to swap an LSX into an S2000. The kit I have will bolt in an LSX motor, bolt on a 2010-2014 Camaro differential, and comes with a custom driveshaft, hubs, and axles. No need to figure out what works and what doesn't.

I think you are meaning the difference between v6 diff and v8 diff. V8 is a stronger diff. and has a different driveshaft coupler on pinion. Mounting points are the same. Guys are swapping out the v6 diffs to v8s, modding driveshaft to fit v8 diff and aftermarket axle shafts on v6 cars. So a SS, ZL1, or Z28 diff should work.

I just checked car-part.com and it listed none available in US., but not all yards post there. Happy hunting. Post a build thread for this. It should be pretty cool when finished.

I've heard a lot of good things about Texas Speed, and I found these on their site.

Would these be a better choice than porting and building my 317 heads? For the price, I would really only pay $1400 if I sell my 317 heads.

For 5th gen Camaro differentials:
SS manual trans cars: 3.45 posi
SS automatic cars and V6 cars: 3.27 (V6 automatics are peg legs, others are posi)
Check out this site for classifieds. Occasionally you'll see diffs for sale:

No problem! Took a quick peek for you. There's a 3.27 unit, a couple 3.45's and a 3.91 out of the 1LE optioned-SS:
