There was a major cleaning, sorting and reorganization done - I also changed the motor in my fathers 86 Mustang Vert that needed to be done..... The shop is done, my fathers car is running again, my car is out of the corner and ready to be worked on again.....

Finally got through all the cleaning, motor swapping on my dad's car and just pure laziness last weekend..... I got back to working on my car today..... Filled all the holes in the core support that are not needed..... I also started on the front aprons, got all the small holes in them filled..... Tomorrow I will get the bigger holes filled in the front aprons that I have to make slugs to fill.....

Here is before and after on the core support.....

and here is what the front aprons are looking like so far.....

Got all the holes not needed taken care of in both front aprons and the pass side rear apron..... I had to make some 1.5" diameter where the nut plates for the hood hinges used to bolt up so I could get a good looking repair.....

Here are before and afters for the driver side front, then pass side front and pass side rear aprons.....

This morning I got the unneeded hole in the driver side rear apron all welded up, then cut a big hole in that apron in order to make clearance for the new 66 pin wiring connector I am going to use now..... Got the patch for this hole just about made, I will finish fitting it in the morning and weld it in.....

Here the holes are filled and then with the clearance hole cut in the panel.....

On a good note, a major component just made it today after waiting since the end of Nov for it.....

Here it is along with some other related components.....

No carb for me, I have been wanting to try fuel injection and I didn't want to make a hole in the flat hood so.....

Its a very clean 28,000 mile LS1 intake
New GM throttle body that has been ported(also have all new GM sensors for it)
Holley HP unterminated EFI kit with the NTK O2 sensor(this way I can taylor the harness to my application)

FUN FUN FUN.....

Man, I'm really digging this build. At first when I seen the car I was like,"uummmm...," but now I'm like, "hell ya!" Lol
You had a great vision. A true hot rodder is what you are.
Anyway, I love the wheels, matching paint block, and valve covers.
Keep the black hood!!! It looks meaner with it

Cleaned all the grinding dust off everything and moved the car a little further from the wall so I could open the door all the way, then made a little progress on it today..... I removed the steering column and pulled down all the fuse boxes I was using to make some room(all the wiring is getting changed soon anyways)..... Then I opened the hole in the firewall for the new feed through connector.....

Here is the current under dash condition.....

Here is the original firewall feed connector hole, then the modified hole for the new feed through connector and a couple with the connector mocked up in place.....

Went down this morning and drilled the mounting holes for the connector..... Also made a connector trim ring template for the engine side of the firewall to cover the small notches in the sides of the hole in the firewall where the old connector hole was..... I'll made the trim ring this week at work..... I also started on the export brace layout, I'll get some stuff this week to work on that next weekend.....

Here is the hole in the firewall with the mounting holes drilled and a little touch up paint on the exposed metal from cutting it open. and one of the template on the connector.....

Here is what I am looking at for the export brace so far.....

I went to the US Nationals in Brandenton yesterday..... Today I made a little progress, I got the pieces for the tower/cowl brace on the pass side made..... I got a set of universal brackets for the back of the towers that only needed minor modifications to work there.....

Here are the brackets I purchased showing the before and after mods.....

In process of fitting brackets.....

and the new assembly mocked up after fitting.....
