Now that I have a few minutes I thought I would start one of these. A year later is better than never I suppose.

Car: 1970 Chevelle 350.
Plans: LS with 4L60E trans.
Power: 400-450 goal

Well last December I pulled the 350 out and thought the car would be running by march. I bought a 98 LS1 from a vette and the swap seemed simple.....

The wood brace kept the front all in tact while moving to my shed.

On to grinding.......I hate grinding......

It was neat to find factory marks while wirebrushing the firewall.

Up close it was nasty. More than I thought...

The firewall was not something I was going to do at first. Then a buddy was like hey ill help you. He forgot to tell me what a long painful process that is. Once I removed the paint I noticed both cowl ends were shot.

All this on one cowl end...

Slow removal process...

AMD cowl end replacement fit perfect!

I bought a LS for $1525 from a yard and it looked real clean.

Had a local guy build a trans to meet my power goal.

Mated up nice

First time the LS went into the car. (one of 25 times)

I used Dirty Dingo sliding brackets, Energy suspension mounts.

Checking the typical places. It fit with no mod to trans tunnel.

PS pulley cleared the quick ratio steering box. (Out of a 95 Jeep)
