Default 2003-2004 GMC / Isuzu w4500 truck engine

Do you guys have any idea what kind of 6.0 engines did these vehicle get from the factory? Is it the same LQ4 as you can find in a "normal" truck?

Thanks for the quick answer.
I would think these engines have the same engine specs maybe they have a different gearing only. Maybe different cam?
It is really strange that GM advertisement did not mention these engines specs separately anywhere.

i believe theyre rated at less power in those trucks although i dont know why. usually they all got the same cam depending on year. most likely just a few minor differences that wont matter when modding

It would be good to find something. I would like to use one engine like this directly in a 72 Nova without any modification. This Nova will be a very budget build daily driver.

It's an LQ4. You won't find the high performance LQ9 in a big truck like this.

The LQ4 would be good enough for start in a lightweight Nova.
I was searching all day on the net about the engine specs of this work truck engine but no result.

Probably this question was answered million times but which gm production head would be the best to raise up the compression on these engines? Or milling?
My plan is just to bump up the compression to be able to run a nice street cam and headers.
I don't really need high HP numbers for my daily driver Nova. I used to have a 2005 Mustang GT with 5 speed and 3.73 gears and I loved that a lot. It was more than enough on the street and the exhaust sound was pretty nice above 3000rpm. It was not more than 270hp at the rear wheels but it was really fun to drive. I just want to have something similar. I like the old cars much better so the Mustang had to go a few month ago.
