Here is what I know(maybe). I believe the Corvette is the only one that uses the TUTD feature that does not require the use of a BCM. All other tunes will require the Body Control Module like your 2010 Camaro has.

Another option is change the code in both your E38 ECM and 6l80 TCM to a 2010 Corvette tune. You would probably have to use the Corvette shifter or one modified to match it. I think Speartech does this. John at Speartech is very knowledgeable on the subject and can steer you in the right direction.

Do you have a picture of the Cadillac shifter. The one from Speartech is a little tall for my car. I have an under dash A/C unit and I am thinking of going to a floor shift but need a shorter style.

Nice, i did the same set up for my 64 impala ss. L99 with 6l80 trans, i converted the L99 to a LS3 but i had to cut the trans tunnel. I used a (4l80) shifter kit from shiftworks.com that allowed me to use my stock shifter to work with the 6l80 and works great. Im about to go through the same process for my 71 chevelle. Can you tell me if you had to cut the floor or not in your chevelle to make the 6l80 trans fit? I seen a guy on here that put that trans in a 70 chevelle and he said he didnt.

I wonder how low that transmission sits in relation to the ground?

Yes that was reason I cut floor otherwise it was way past frame car is going to be lowered a little wanted as much ground clearance I can get I smashed the headers on original small block cause they hung lower then frame trying to avoid as much as possible

oh ok got you chevyorangess, yeah i have shorty headers and not worried about ground clearance but i did hear i could go with a low profile trans pan. I just was trying to avoid going through the process of cutting the trans tunnel because I spent a grip getting that done on my 64 impala to get that 6l80 in. @1989GTA, do you have to the link to the guy who got in his 70 chevelle? Thanks for the info fellas

Default G8 / caddy shifter with 6l80e

Hi,

Has anyone got a G8 or cadillac shifter to work with the 6l80e? If so could you guide me on how to do this? My TCM should be flashed / programmed to operate without the BCM, just need to understand wiring...

Any guidance would be much appreciated!
