Cut out that section of the firewall/cowl, flip it over, weld it back in.

That is what I will do if I have to. That cowl is hollow except for the wiper motors and arms.

I was originally going to use a fuel injected LY6 in my 55 Chevy. I have decided to install a LSA Supercharger. Will this setup that I purchased for the fuel injection work?

This is for the short Corvette Water Pump configuration in my 1955 Chevy Nomad:

Power Steering Pump ~ AutoZone 63106
Power Steering Reservoir Kit ~ Holley 198-200
Power Steering Pulley ~ Chevrolet Performance 12568997
Driver Side Bracket Kit for Alternator and Power Steering Pump ~ Holley 20-135
Accessory Drive Bracket Kit for SD7 or SD508 A/C Compressor ~ Holley 20-132
Harmonic Balancer ~ ATI Super Damper 917266

I also have the following:
LSA Supercharger

Will the Holley Brackets work?

Is there anything that I am missing?

Thank You very much for the help. It is greatly appreciated.

The AC compressor will pose a problem as it sits in the same location as the SC tensioner assembly. Kits are available to move the tensioner, but it severely reduces belt wrap so if you plan to overdrive the SC you'll be fighting belt slip. Best of both worlds is to use a low mount bracket for the sanden compressor but the only one Ive seen is $450. Remember you want one for the corvette spacing. The alan grove bracket wont cut it

Also, your balancer will not work. Its a quality part for the main accessory drive, but the SC runs on a separate belt in front of the standard 6 rib accessory drive. Heres the ATI list, scroll down to camaro Z-body or cadillac CTS-V

The main thing you are missing is a belt tensioner system for the supercharger belt. The belt rides on a separate set of pulleys (farther away from the block) than the main corvette accessory drive.
As stated, that Holley A/C bracketry will sit right where the factory LSA S/C tensioner bolts in.

What you'll probably be looking at is either 1) changing compressors and mounting low while also running the factory S/C tensioner system up high; or 2) finding a bracket from one of the many manufacturers that integrates all of the accessories together. at the LS3/truck spacing; for example ADM Performance sells a fully integrated 6 rib system I believe.

I am putting an LSA on a stroked LS3 for a 55 Chevy. You are going to run into some problems with your configuration. I just finished the front end tonight on the LS3, less the belts. This is what it looks like:

I had to ditch the LS3 water pump and used the LSA water pump. This allowed for the SC pulleys and an LSXConcept bracket. You can use the LSA damper or ATI. I used the ATI because I wanted to overdrive the boost by 10%. Otherwise I would have saved some money and used a CTS-V damper. I used the Vintage Air SD709, GM Corvette Alternator and Dorman 5.25" pulley for the PS. The set-up I am using will run the SC on the front 8 rib belt and the rest of the accessories on the middle belt. This leaves the inside belt available in case I ever want to run a dry sump. I opted for the Camaro oil pan to save some money. Gives the clearance needed for the 55. The LS9 cam will work. I went more aggressive and used the TSP LSA Cam. The pushrod part number you listed is for a stock length. Don't order the 7.400 pushrod until you measure the lash first. I ended up with a 7.450 to get the right preload. Good luck.

Hi Dave, Nice looking build....

I noticed you said you are over driving 10% on your setup but I see you have both a 2.55 upper and 10% lower pulley. you do realize that is actually around 30% overdrive not 10% with that pulley combination.

Thanks for the comments and feedback.

I meant to say the ATI was at 10%.

I started with a LS3 stroked to 418 for a twin turbo set-up. Somewhere along the line I traded the turbo and went with an Eaton 1.9. I talked with Superchargersonline (that are a really good source for LSA help) and found out they measured the stock Eaton 1.9 with a CTS-V at 7lbs. This is far less than what I built the engine to use. I had the blower rebuilt and a 2.55 supercharger pulley pressed into the snout. I found out I can't go smaller than the 2.55" without machining the snout, otherwise I would have gone smaller. With the ATI 10% overdrive, this should give me about 36% more of boost at the throttle. The problem is the engine was designed to breath a lot of air, so the 1.9 really has to drive a lot more than it was designed to do. I started with a TSP shortblock.

As for the camshaft, I decided to go with the TSP LSA-3 Camshaft 227/235 .641/.639 114 LSA 3 bolt. They have had good numbers with this.

The heads are LS3, ported and polished.

This is what the build looked like at the end of the turbo set-up before I stripped it back down for the SC:

I hated pulling the Beck intake. It can put out some serious power with a twin turbo. I got the supercharger back from Superchargersonline. They wrap it in a Lingerfelter plastic bag. I figured I'd keep the bag since anything with Lingenfelter on it costs money :-).

I found out about the alignment pin on the right front of the blower like everyone else. Dropped the blower on and had a WTF moment on why it wasn't seating. I have another engine (5.3L) that I want to adapt a 1.9 supercharger, so I bought a jig to drill the alignment hole in the head. It works great.

This was the fit check. Dropped on like it was an LSA head.

The AC is mounted high in the 55 as opposed to lower on the stock LSA. The LSA uses a three belt set-up, with the inner belt driving the AC. I wanted to use a bracket system that drove the accessories on the middle belt and the sc on the outer belt. If I can get some track time with my 55, I may want to upgrade to a dry sump. The oil pumps mount in the lower block where the ac use to go and can use the inner belt that is now available. For now, I use the Camaro pan and a racing baffle from Improved Racing.

I am using 85lb EV6 injectors. Overkill for the boost I will get.

The only additional item for my build is an external oil cooler adapter for 212 degrees and oil temperature sensor (Improved Racing again).

I reused the steam line from the LS3. I just swapped the front and back around. I mounted the front piece on the back side and bent the tube parallel to the block. I use the Monster Clutch LT1-S Twin Disc Package to mate up to a TR6060.

The LSXConcept brackets were the right fit for the accessories. Everything drives off 2 belts and fits the profile I need for the 55. I had to get an LSA water pump and ditch the Edelbrock LS3 unit. The brackets are well made and I didn't need to make any modifications.

I used the 92mm Nick Williams throttle body and opened the sc snout port to match. The LS3 has a 24x reluctor so I can run the LS1B ECM. Next is getting the wiring harness built.

Dave

Have you looked into belts for the blower yet? I think you may have a hard time finding one. I know I was looking into combos with my lsxconcepts brackets and anything beyond the stock upper with the Ati balancer was coming up slim.

Yeah, I found out you can't go to a local auto shop and ask for belts by length in inches. After I figured out the code for belts, I went online for the 8 rib. I needed a 46" belt. This translates to 1169mm, so I looked for 8PK1169 to 1175. This is what I found: NIParts J1081172, Goodyear 8PK1175, Mazda RF5C-15-909A, JAPKO 8PK1170, Bosch 8PK1170 and Gates 8PK1173. If I go with 46.5", the 8PK1180 is available at local auto shops (used on Chevy Blazers and K1500). The main accessory belt is 97" and this is 6PK2465.

The belts come in next week.

I usually take the printed gates belt chart with me, and buy 2 or 3 in each direction from the size I think I need. Then return all the ones I don't use. The local autozone has been pretty good to me. I am not surprised anymore when the belt size I think I will need is close, but not close enough.

Yes unfortunately belt selection is an issue for 8 rib belts in the size range we are in, and we knew that when we designed it. one of the reasons we designed it to use the 3 ATI pulleys, but that was the compromise we had to make for having the high mount A/C. however worst case scenario is there are 6 rib belts in smaller increments in that size range.

If you asking about running the LSA in a C5, the problem is the lower blower pulley position conflicts with the rack and pinion position. I know because I have a C5 in the garage and already looked at doing a swap.
