Removed the factory sound deadening with dry ice, a deadblow, and a chisel

Found some more cancer on the drivers side. Below is by the rear seat mount and there is also a small spot (not pictured) under the gas pedal. This is good, because i extremely dislike welding sheet metal

Ahh. Dry ice, a dead blow and an old Z car interior. Memories! That is definitely the best way to get the factory stuff out. I think whatever tar stuff they used is what gives Z cars their unique interior smell.

I like that wrinkle finish you put on the motor. Should look good.

By the way, I burned my bushings out as well the first time I did some, but later used a hole saw. Much cleaner with the hole saw.

I like what you're doing. Good attention to detail. You might have gotten some tips from my Cougar build :-)

Keep up the good work.

Cool car and project. I had a V8 powered 240Z I built in my first engine swap some 20 years ago. At the time, it was the quickest car I had ever driven.

Enjoy this!

I noticed your heavy gauge wires passing through the firewall without a grommet to insulate. I'm assuming you just hadn't installed yet. If not, the sheet metal as the car vibrates, will cut through the insulation on the 12V+ and arc potentially causing a fire. Please don't overlook that.

Good work! Looks like you're paying attention to the details that will make this thing reliable like factory. Awesome build and thanks for the pics and details!

During the start of your engine tear down pictures and repainting of the engine, I was questioning whether I was in my build thread or not haha

Check out the first couple pages of mine and you will see why!

Nice start on the build btw!

Thanks man! I'm planning on running a S14 rear sub frame to benefit from the improved anti-squat over the S13 and also to maintain the 5 lug hubs, but really wanted to run the Z32TT diff/axles because of the thicker axles and larger diff. So how much did you have to mod the sub frame to fit it in the S13 sub frame?

Thanks man, i'm glad it helps! I got the rail kit off of a site named after a large river, and in fact, i got a very large number of parts off of that river site

Careful with the F-body pan and high volume oil pumps. Mine would uncover the pickup under hard acceleration. Went with an improved racing baffle kit for the F-body pan to fix it.
