New Hooker Fox Body Mustang LS Swap System Preview Thread
#305
The only compatibility I can speak to in regards to torque arms is the Maximum Motorsports rear suspension set-up since that is on the Calypso Green car you see in this thread that I used for product development. After I released the car to the owner he installed the Maximum Motorsports rear suspension and brought the car back in for me to hang an exhaust on it so he could take it on Power Tour. I was able to install the Hooker muffler/turn-down system you see in this thread, but I had to slightly dent the driver side leg of the X-pipe on its outlet end to clear the tube the front end of the torque arm pivots in. The Hooker full length exhaust will require equal treatment in that area as those components are identical to the muffler/turn-down set-up up to the mufflers. The tailpipes will need some type of customizing as well but I won't know specifically what that is until I bring the car back in sometime over the next two months to finish the system out to the rear of the car for the owner. Whenever it does take place, I'll post my findings here.

Any update regarding T56 crossmember 71222016HKR?
I actually put my project up for sale yesterday, but when I told my wife she got upset and said I should finish it with my son. Reviewing options now.
Thanks

I’m targeting the release to take place around the middle of next month based on the delivery date provided by the supplier.

I’ve been working with the supplier over the last couple of weeks to get through some final issues they were having with the assembly of one of them. Now that that’s past, I see them showing up at any time. I’m on vacation for the whole week and won’t have anything more to report.

I recently spent a few hours evaluating the compatibility of the components in the Hooker Blackheart Fox Body and SN95/New Edge Mustang LS swap systems with the UPR Products Fox Body mod motor K-member and have to report that the Hooker Blackheart Fox Body LS swap headers are not compatible for use with the this particular K-member in the Fox Body application.
The reason for the incompatibility stems from the Hooker Blackheart Fox Body LS swap headers being designed around the engine stand geometry of the stock SB Ford Fox body K-member, so they will not route around any K-member that uses the later mod-motor engine stands.
If you are an SN95 or New Edge owner with a UPR mod motor K-member in your car you now have another option for LS swap parts as the Hooker Blackheart SN95/New Edge LS swap headers fit in that application with the UPR K-member as they were designed around the mod-motor engine stand geometry. The use of the Hooker Blackheart SN95/New Edge LS engine adapter plates will be needed to duplicate this fitment; the headers will not fit with the engine location provided by the UPR engine adapter plates (they move the engine further rearward.
The last piece of info to add is even though the mock-up of the Hooker Blackheart SN95/New edge LS swap headers and engine adapter plates with the UPR K-member was successful, the engine installed engine height was noted to be approximately 5/16" higher than it is when using the same Hooker Blackheart engine adapter plates on the stock 1996-04, or Maximum Motorsports MMKM-2 K-members. The user will need to decide if that geometric difference is of importance to them.

Todd, I am new to this thread and wanted to thank you and your company for all the hard work with the r&d on the many projects that you have tackled.
Do you have any idea about the exhaust routing for the use of an IRS in the fox body?
Would you care to guess a date that a complete kit for the ls/fox swap will be complete?

On my '86 SVO LS2 swap with IRS, I used a Magnaflow 99-04 IRS cat back system and bought a 2.5" X pipe builders kit from Speed Engineering off eBay. Then it was a pretty simple matter of putting together the mid section from the headers to the mufflers.I had to do a little cutting and welding because the Hooker header collectors aren't parallel to the frame, but it wasn't bad.
