This will soon not be the case with the coming 302-3 Holley pan...stroker clearance up to 4" and turbo drain-back ports along with that capability. If fits every application the 302-2 fits and then some.
About time you slackers get what the people need !!
Just hope it not like the 68/72 El Camino trans cross member !!

That crossmember has taken an extended amount of time as it got pushed back in favor of other projects a couple of times. I'm going to grease the wheels of that project next week and get it jump started.

That sounds great Todd !! I will be waiting for the good news !!
This means more money going to Holley for parts . LOL !!!
No, it hangs dangerously low ( I had it in my car ).

Ok, so let me see if I got this right.... You got these answers ^^^ And still decided to go with that pan to save $100? Good luck with it....
Unless they've changed recently, as far as I know they have always used the LH8 pan, which is the Hummer pan and also the muscle car pan. I dont think you'll be disappointed with the Holley, I have heard nothing but good things about it.
Here's the GMPP muscle car pan in a 1979 El Camino with MetalTek mounts. It hangs down lower than I want, but I'm going to use it for now to git her done. Google says the C5 Corvette oil pan that came on the engine might work(?!), otherwise I'll eventually put the Holley pan on.
So glad that I stumbled onto this thread on the 302-3. I am getting dangerously close to needing an oil pan and will eventually have a turbo. So the drains that are cast into the pan are a very nice feature. Nicely done. Todd, please keep this site updated when you know the availability of the new pan.
Any idea of the price point? I'm sure it will be more than the 302-2, but how much more?
I have heard the pan is getting close to being available, but I don't have a specific date to report as of yet.
The price point is also not something I'm informed about as I'm not the primary responsible engineer on this project...I provided the basis for the geometry/features of the design and someone else ran with it from there. When I hear something I let you guys know.
