Default LS2 into 72 Chevelle

What relocation kits are people using to relocate the alternator and compressor? I see plenty of kits where it is the alternator and power steering but i would rather not relocate power steering since it is not needed.

Also, what is everyone using for drive shafts with a ls2 and a t56?

Lastly, turning a auto car into a manual, any tips on this part?

Thanks for the advice it is appreciated.

The best accessory set-up for A-bodies is the Corvette placement. If you have a LS2...is it from a Corvette or TBSS?

For driveshaft, I usually have them made locally to my specifications, unless you want to do something fancy, like a CV shaft, then The Driveshaft Shop is the place.

Manual swap, you need the pedal, and some sort of kit to mount a clutch MC to the firewall. I used a kit from Keisler (now Silver State) and it has worked well. You also need significant tunnel surgery to fit a T56. If yours is in and you have not touched the trans tunnel, then your engine angle is way off and thus your driveline angles are way off.

If you have not purchased any mounts yet, I strongly recommend reading this:

This is an old post, but I have the same questions... From what I can tell the AC compressor may hit the passenger side frame to be notched? Some people use F-Body accessories? Im doing an GTO LS2 into a 72 Chevelle. I'd like to keep the AC. Thank you for any advice-

Get the Holley A/C relocation kit. It puts the compressor higher up on the passenger side. Still uses Corvette spacing.

Use the Holley brackets, if you're going with an aftermarket AC like vintage air, they have a bracket that can mount the ac compressor low on the passenger side. GTO accessories are about the same as F body accessories, you may have to swap out to the smaller f-body alternator as the one from the gto may hit the steering box.

The low mount factory AC and alternator will definitely not work in a A body. I'm using the mid mount.

Holley stuff for accessories and motor mounts, cut the **** out of tunnel and get pedal bracket from Silver Sport or Bowler or whoever if you are going manual, get a driveshaft made locally. If you can cut and weld it's not too bad.

The LM7 truck motor with all of it front accessories completely fits inside an A-body as long as you use the Holley forward bias mounts and their Holley 302-2 or -3 oil pan. I'm also running the LM7 low mount AC compressor. No complaints, no snipping of metal required and a vanishingly low price in the junk yards.
