Mount ideas for bottom of new radiator
Below is a picture of where my new radiator will be mounted (that old condenser will be replaced). I'm not sure how I should mount it on the bottom. The vendor (Griffin) said to run a strip of weather stripping underneath, but I feel like that would be too soft and may be prone to deterioration with the heat cycles. I know some vendors sell some hard rubber type pads, but I don't quite understand how it would hold the radiator in place on the bottom. The second picture is the type radiator I have.
in the ends, bolted it down. Now the bottom of the radiator is just trapped in that piece, it can't move back and forth. Did something similar to the top, but
bent some aluminum and put some screws here and there, Radiator is now mounted in rubber mounts that are a little forgiving.
I bought some rubber spring spacers at the auto parts store and cut my own with a bandsaw.
You can use the original upper style support or a couple metal straps with weather srtipping cushion too.
Be sure the aluminum radiator is not contacting the metal support, brackets, etc.
Sorry, no pics.
