The bush I'm speaking of is the metal bit that fits snugly into the trans housing and snugly around the slip yoke. Aluminum absorbs NVH much more effectively than steel which helps a ton with noise and vibration. Also, in my case, 8 lbs. less weight, all of it rotational. All's well. Who's taking the 2AM feeding?

You swap maniacs might enjoy my next round of e36 mods—

Chopping the front rad support to fit z28 intake bits.. might have to slant rad and ac cond….

Cut out rear spare pan…. To fit full dual 3” exhaust w dyno max super turbo w twin center exit

Full twin 3” cats x pipe dual super turbos .. should flow well and sound nice.

That's "cold" air! Although, a bit of an obstruction to air flow across the rad.....

I’m not using that cone filter… I have the c5 air raid filter on order. That 90 elbow is worth 20 hp.

ive got a 16” spal pusher on order.

Ill be dropping the rad and cond 1-2” for better fitment… then all new custom air mgt shrouds. Should open up air flow as well.

if you want to sell that steel one, im in the market for a driveshaft like this.

If not, any chance you could send me over the part number/specs of it and i can reach out to Drift Motions. Build is awesome, lots of good information in there. If you have the time and still playing around with your plasma table, ill purchase a transmount and one of those rear strut tower bar. Those are perfect.. anyways thanks for all the good info here.

Thank you for the kind words. To be honest you could probably go to a local drive shaft shop and have them make one for you.The main reason I had Drift Motion do my driveshaft is because I also bought the rear end adapter from them (https://www.driftmotion.com/Driftmot...r-p/dm3685.htm) . You will need to have your transmission mounted, and your diff in place with the adapter so you can take the proper measurements. You will then take a measurement from the tail housing/input shaft location at the transmission to the face of the diff adapter. For my setup that measurement was approx 50.0625".

I would be happy to make you a trans mount and rear sway bar. Send me a PM and we can work out the details.

As a general update on the car. It has been in piece for about the last 5 months. I had to pull the transmission to shim up the throw out bearing. While the trans was out I took some time to Cerakote the headers, and clean up a few items (see below).

Also I was able to fire the car up for the first time in 5 months, and without much effort she fired right up.

Headers look great!!! And good counsel on the need to measure an individual set up for the proper length driveshaft. With swaps, as we all know, sometimes the engine doesn't end up in exactly the same place with one swap as it does for another.

I am in the probation period of 30 days before being allowed to private message. Its winter where I live, so no rush on my end getting the details worked out. but if sooner rather than later is better for you i can give you my email or something. Or once the probation period is up, I can reach out.

Forgive me if I missed some interior pictures but how was the fitment of the cd009? I'm in the process of doing this exact build and I'm concerned about where the shifter location will end up.

@SOMT I actually ended up cutting and making the top portion of the transmission tunnel removable. When I did that I relocated the shifter opening to match the shifter location of the CD009. I will say the shifter location all depends on which shifter you plan on using.

The Factory CD009 has a long shifter cradle at the back of the trans that puts the shifter location past the E36 opening if I remember correctly.

There are companies like Collins Adapters and GK Tech that offer shifter relocation kits. That is the route I went. This brings the shifter placement forward a good amount.

The picture above is of the GK Tech kit. I went with the Collins kit which seemed better designed to me.

Hope this helps.

@SOMT to be honest I have only been able to drive the car for about 100 miles. In those 100 miles I would say this about the shifter. The pattern is VERY close together, and the throw is very short. I had an issue with the bolts that hold the shifter handle to the shifter assembly backing out. I put a little locktite on them and it fixed the issue. I would recommend the shifter, but I think it all depends on your shifter placement and what you are trying to achieve.

Thanks,
Andrew

Quick update. The car is running and driving. Now that the weather is getting nicer I have been taking the car out on short drives. I have put about 50 miles on the car in the last two weeks and so far no major issues. Here is shot of her sitting in the driveway ready for a drive.

I have been working on a good amount of small items and have been making solid progress. Due to the placement of my filter/regulator I wanted to make a protective head shield for. This is what I came up with. It is 1/8” aluminum with some heat tape on the out side.

The weather looks like it will be nice this weekend so I plan to put some miles on the car. I will try to get some videos and pictures.

Thanks,
Andrew
