Default Source for used L86 or 83 drivetrains?

Hi Everyone,

It has been years since my last project but I am now starting a new swap (41 Chevy Coupe) and am looking for some advice. I can not seem to find any good used drivetrains for sale in my area (Nothern Delaware) so I am looking for recomendations of salvage yards or eBay resellers that you have had luck with in the past who will also ship. I am looking to source an L86 or L83 with auto trans with under 35K miles if possible. I am not looking to bash anyone so only recomendations if you dont mind. If you feel strongly enough to tell me to stay away from someone feel free to PM me instead of posting it as I don't want to start any trouble. If there is already a thread started that has this type of info please point me in its direction as I cant seem to find it.

Thanks,

Matt

I use car-parts as well. Here is a place not too far from you that I used in the past. Lots of low mileage engines to choose from.

Thanks ProjectGatTagO and 17outs. I am currently chasing down a couple leads on motors I found on car-parts.

Regarding fparts, I have had good luck with them in the past (bought 2 LS2s from them) but they have not had any Gen Vs in their inventory for weeks. I will keep checking just in case something new comes in.

Thanks Everyone for the recommendations. Found a good deal on Car-Parts for a low mile 2018 LT1 with 8 speed auto out of a Camaro, much better price than ebay. Received it this past week and looks pretty good. Will start a thread on my 41 Chevy project once I get some pics uploaded.

Thanks,

Matt

Mind if i ask what a good price is? All the ones on car-part i have seen have been really high. I've been looking into these swaps and it seems its much easier without the trans. Then you can use Holley but a tuner just told me that holleys implementation of DI is a hack essentially so I have research to do.
