I think a lot of times, guys don't realize how much $ a guy can put in a nice S10. I wouldn't call mine nice, but I have some coin ties up in mine. I do wish I could have a really clean fist gen, but in my area, they are really, really rare!

I have been around classic cars my whole life. It costs alot of money to any vehicle to build them. It only varies based on how nice you want the vehicle to be.

Not sure what your plans are for a rear end, but GM did put a 8.5 30 spline axle under SOME of the 2000+ 4.3/5spd trucks. The factory gov bomb is junk, but you can swap it for one from a car, say a Buick Roadmaster or such with the factory G80 clutch posi. I know several guys who have run them bottom 9's and not broke.
