I want the LS1 engine to go in it because let's face it...tiburon engines arent all that great.
What all would I need to make it happen?
I know I'm going to need some support bars welded to the frame and obviously better brake system, the ecu and msd coil. I need to know what will it need to have it running inside the engine bay.
Also, what could I have removed besides just the a/c to shave weight from front end or just to free up space from components I wont necessarily have to have in the engine bay.
Please dont reply back with those facebook type of responses. I want replys from people that knows what's involved and has done engine swaps with their hands.
I kept this tiburon from getting scrapped, and want to restore/beef it up.
I believe they are are front wheel drive. It would cost far more then the value of the car.
Sure...but that hasn't stopped people from doing off the wall projects...
That said, if it is FWD, then clearly this isn't a "bolt in" conversions. This forum does have some interesting projects as I recall. There is a Ford Focus...VW...Subaru...The OP should seek out those builds for what it would take to do this.
I applaud creativity, but you will have hundreds if not thousands ove hours of Fab work. For a car that isn't that great to start with. You'd be light years ahead if you found a Honda s2000 with a great body. I'm not nockin your idea, but sit down and really think about how much time and money your willing to put in a car that would never return 1/2 of what's in it....
Thanks for all the answers provided, I found a shop in KY that's going to put one in for me. I'm not really worried about getting my money back from it cause I dont really want to get rid of it, I havent had a project in years, and I figured I do something not many has done.

Very true, I was assuming someone not knowing what he needs to do to swap this isn't the off the wall builder type. lol I could be wrong.
I've swapped motors before but, they was pretty much direct fits. This will be the craziest fabbed build I've done and it's a learning kind of thing that i enjoy.

tbh, I'm getting a crate ordered from the guys at the shop, they dont install stock engines so, I got to think about how much horse I want installed on. They gave 8 months to come up with a plan (i have a long wait line in front of me, and nobody else I know will do the swap and correctly). Plus it comes with payment options so I'll have the money to cough up by that time comes.
The swap is going to run me 21k, ya know, turn key and installed correctly. Everything is going to be upgraded to wear my tiburon can handle that power.
The more horse the more dollars, how much hp should I start her out with?

In your position, take the car and desired engine/tranny to a conversion shop, tell them what has to go where, and be ready to fork over a few tall stacks of cash.
HINT- Putting a rear drive setup in a front drive car involves a whole new undercarriage, floors, essentially the whole bottom of the car.
You will be building a whole new car under a Tiburon body shell.

Well it's called gathering ideas to what will work better, this route with keeping the fwd and put the ls4 or that route with converting fwd to rwd and putting in a ls2...you dont have to type in a response and be a donkey about it...this ain't facebook, I'm sure your a donkey there too. But on the other hand, the conversation that started with the word "hint"..that's all you had write. And me not knowing the best route to go...that's...kind of what these forum are for. Asking for the best route. So take this united citizens bank lollipop and be a good boy.
I don't think the width of that car will accommodate a transverse/fwd layout. FWD or RWD - it's gonna cost a lot more than $21k if you're paying someone to do it.
