Thanks Andrew. For some reason I assumed they would of used material a little thicker. I can imagine this is a lot cheaper to produce than one with some flex joint.

Has anyone ever hear of the bellow type flex joint cracking after time?

The bellow cracking is well documented. This is why they switched to the slip joint.

Was going to reply the same about the bellow style cracking.

Had to be a skip join when using one.

Turbo isn't mounted yet. That's the "wrong" rad in there while waiting for the right one but as you can see there's a spacing issue.

Looks like the rad will get modified.

All issues aside, I think the car will be running in the next couple weeks and all that will be left after that is to finish up the exhaust.

Pretty much all major things are complete:
-Motor / trans install (still have to install shifter)
-Fuel system is built and run. Still have to make fuel filler and final install tank.
-holley is mostly run, have some tidying to do but it's there
-cold side pretty much complete
-downpipe still has to get made
-driveshaft still has to be built (2-3 day turnaround they tell me)

Some other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting right now but lots of progress made the last few weeks. Getting very excited.

Anyone have any recommendations for a decent stubby filter? (highway use) likely going to run a "cage" around town. Going to run off the 10psi spring. That'll be plenty of power to shake down the car with.

Looking forward to seeing how you to the pipe from the manifold to the turbo.

Hoping to get it like a 45° angle away / above the manifold. That'll give me a great location for the downpipe. Also, there's a filler panel behind my grill, which I'm going to cut a hole out of inline with the turbo for maximum air flow.

It's all coming together.

Even though there was motorcycles out yesterday and I saw a newer audi R8 driving around, still at least a few weeks before I bring the car out. It snowed a few inches here overnight haha.

I was looking at this:

To come off the manifold outlet.

Andrew, I don't recall what accessories you're running but I'm running the truck set and as you can see things are tight for me.

You may fair out better than I, pending accessories.

Mine is going to be even tighter! I have the Holley mid mount, which pushes the accessories forwar.

So we're probably end up in a similar location. Do you plan on supporting your turbo?(it's something I'm likely to do)

Undecided as of now. I want to see where it ends up first.

Some more little stuff done today but progress is progress.

Valve covers prepped, bungs welded for catch can and fresh coat of paint.

Shifter installed and as you can see, sits further back than the old one. TH350 vs 4l80.

Probably look for cup holders or something like that to mount in front of shifter. Possibly a full console.

How tight is that bend off the Holley manifold? What the dimension from the end of the log to the far side of the bend?

That's was poor photo..

Have to wait for a true measurement but it's roughly 4" - 5" center to center.

Is your radiator moved back from the original location?

No, radiator is mounted in factory location. 19" x 24" sized radiator, same size as the one it replaced.

Looks like a P/S box relocating kit is your solution.
