Default What sensors will keep L59 from startingv

Ok so I’ve been battling my LS swap into my C10

ive got everything from the donor truck.

I’ve been trying to unlock VATs. I’ve done it my self, paid a garage HPTuner to remove it and finally took it to a shop.

the Shop said VATS has been off. But it’s still cranking, firing then dying like VATS.

The shop told me start looking at sensors. I just replaced the crank sensor with no luck. What other sensors would cause this to fire but die after one revolution.

fuel line is at 60PSI, I’ve also plugged in the throttle plate TPS which isn’t in the video but the same issue.

Do you have the MAF in front of the TB?

Plugged into the TB yes. No pedal is plugged in yet.

My MAF wire in front of the TB is cut.

is the MAF enclosed or hanging loose but still in front? It needs to be wired in and I don’t of the TB within a tube or itself if it’s a older MAF that’s part of its own section.

I ran through this when trying to get my junk running. Once I put it in a 4” tube, it fired right up .

best of luck

i had a 2002 L59 on my test stand recently. no maf, no IAT, no O2 sensors - fired right up when VATS was disabled.

think about it, what is the VE table based on? map sensor and RPM. so crank position, cam position, and map should be good enough to start it

ah, yours is drive by wire, mine is drive by cable (just watched the video). might be some differences there.

can you read the fault codes? might help you troubleshoot.

wow. I’m surprised. Did it start to dump fuel because of no O2 sensor?

Could you be losing power when you let go of the key after it starts?

there is no key. I have a jumper trigger on the starter. I’m holding it down as it still dies.

it’s fitting fuel. Because it won’t crank start again until I let it sit again.
