Default Its been a while... "Make BMW s Great again " E90 LS turbo

Hi Guys
this build is in the making for a while now
But i just decided i wanted to document it here.

2006 BMW E90 Sedan, Auto, came with a broken N52. I picked it up for 1400$ the interior is almost mint and everything else but the motor is in great shape.
besides some chipping paint on the roof

I built a Gen3 5.3 with gen 4 Internals and a Summit Cam, ported/ milled Heads and a Truck Intake so a pretty proven recipe for a Single 78/75 turbo
I have 1500 Snake eater injectors and a beefy 4l80e with transgo Shiftkit attached to it.

i got my swap parts from LSE90.com, Mike had a equal build many years ago on here that inspired a whole group of guys.
The BMW platforms have been always interesting for high HP swaps and me being born and raised in Germany appreciate the "bringing together of the 2 best world scenarios... German handling and Quality + "Merican V8"

in terms of wiring i use a Holley Terminator X max , i also use Mikes Canbus and wiring adapter to wire everything in the BMWs oem harness.
It is a tight space especially with the 4l80 e in the tunnel but Mikes kits offer to keep the oem BMW shifter with a 4l80e , a Differential /driveshaft adapter, trans mount and many more goodies.
I will be able to utilize the AC /Heater and OEM Powersteering with Mikes accessory bracket.

the Turbo setup is a customer setup from Truck manifold on the pass side with T4 flange to a Gen5 camaro manifold on the driver side
the exhaist is a 3" downpipe ( due to space max) into the OEM exhaust (2x 2.5") with a Exhaust Cutout...
Yes you can fab your own but i decided that i like the OEM look and appearance... the Cutout will provide the performance when needed

i have a bunch of pictures and its a bit in reverse order. if anybody is interested in seeing more please comment on here and i can provide more pics of how i did it...

I also did suspension upgrades with coilovers and a set of 18x8.5/9.5 .
The truck intake was messing with my hood clearance so i opted for a e90 M3 hood scoop made out of fiberglass and molded that to the oem hood where it needed to be for the right fitment.
it was way cheaper than a actual M3 hood and with the carbon Wrap it doesnt look bad at all..

the fuel system combines the OEM BMW line + i added/tapped a Fuel line for a external AEM (bosch 044 style ) pump , + a return line via simple bulk fittings to the tanks.
I am running e85 ( all E85 ready fuel line)so a Sensor and Sloppy E85 /Alt wire is used.

I do Run a ebay special 31x12x4 IC that fits pretty nice behind the front bumper cover ( with some trimming)

I also had to relocate the Coils to behind the fenders i used ICT brackets and Spark extension

At the moment i am waiting on a few parts such
as Accessory bracket, alternator, AC compressor to continue

Love the build, although I'm a little biased. I daily an E92 335xi.

For a turbo LS, I like 4L80e better than a manual. Let's you stay in boost.

Nice....I daily an almost mint 2010 e90 335i M sport. Car is full bolt ons and currently on the lift adding some ore upgraded turbo's. I keep threatening to LS6 swap it when the N54 goes, but the damn thing just won't let go. Love the build, anxious for the finished product. Which wheels are those?

Sharing the BMW love...I daily'd an E90 335xi for a few years (stock other than tune), currently have an E92 M3. Overall an excellent platform. Interested to see how the rear end holds up. Did this car have any limited slip?

Miss my E90 335xi M6 daily. An LS swap would have kept it around my yard forever, awesome project!

Very cool!!! Thanks for the pictures!!

First question came to mind was :

Why the Truck intake - do to clearance issue. But you did address that and the hood looks good.

Is the truck intake a better setup with the Turbo??

Please keep posting!! Thanks

the rear is fine and hold alot of power its more the axles are a problem but I drive it until it breaks ...there is a ford 8.8 diff swap possible with serious axles. But that's more for true drag racing...

Truck intakes flow much better than ls 1,2. + ls1,2 have gotten $$$, well LS1 2 or 3 will clear the stock hood..
with a turbo you forcing air in anyways.. yes a intake makes a difference but it's not as important as if you go NA.
