Default 67 Camaro LS Wiring

I just converted a 67 Camaro RS to a LS1 engine and i am having a couple wiring issues that may be easy to trace but with my limited experience with this type of conversion I am reaching out to the experts so here goes.

My camaro started life as a california car with a straight 6 with all factory wiring. The LS1 engine came out of a 91 corvette.

The first issue I am trying to solve is turning the engine over. I am starting with a new battery and a new starter (see wiring) . When I turn the key I get the accessory light on the dash but nothing is happening at the starter.

I have 12 volts at the battery terminal on the starter. I have no voltage at the brown/purple wire at the solenoid when the key is turned.

After searching the many posts on this message board I found the issue was the neutral lock out under the dash. The engine will crank now but doesn't turn over. The 1991 Corvette LS1 I purchased ran before it was taken out of the car, the guy I purchased it from sent a video. The wiring harness came with the engine and I sent the wiring harness to a guy who specializes in this type of conversion. He set up the ECM and harness for my 67 camaro and sent it back. I installed it according to the instructions that came with the conversion. I am presently going through the process of checking voltage to the HEI coil and to the optispark. I have a pink/blk wire at the HEI coil with 12 volts but there are 3 other wires (pic). I don't have a tach so the white wire should not have voltage but should the other two wires have voltage? I will be checking today.

Hey Douggie- There is no such thing as a 91 Corvette LS1. So kindly clarify this and/or answer Jimbo's question before going any further.

So it's NOT an LS1. Who told you it was??
And being a small block, it is the same engine the Camaro came with. Find a wiring diagram for a Camaro with 350.
And do more reading on what you actually have. This is a forum for LS engines which first came out in 1997.

you dont have an ls1, its likely a L98 small chevy. big difference, theres a 350 section on this website that might be more helpful.

To get back to your question, you need to figure out where the break in the line is for the starting circuit. I assume the 67 is an auto car and has the column mounted P/neutral switch. Either this is unplugged or not properly aligned. To test, you can simply bridge the two 12ga wires and bump the key again

Manual 67-68 cars do not have a clutch safety switch, so there's nothing between the IGN cyl and the starter. 69's do have one, and again it's a two wire 12ga switch. Bridge and bump the key to test

If it's not that, then there's chicanery somewhere in the system. I'd recommend rewiring the whole car as 55 y/o wiring isn't the safest
