Thanks man. I am going to try and find a clean s13 chassis in the next couple months and hopefully get started with the swap at the end of the summer.

Besides working out the mount setup what were the biggest challenges you encountered with the swap?

Do you knoow of anyone that has done the swap on a 300ZX Twin Turbo? I have a 1990 model and I was just curious if anyone had seen it done anywhere. My buddy and I were thinking of doing a twin turbo LS1 to go with the origanal twin turbo on the car. But, as always I just don't have that kind of money. A guy can dream though!

and i got a spare 240 shell sitting

I emailed the guy a few months ago when I came across his car, don't remember what website though. The only thing is that these are for an iron block not an LS1/T56 combo like I had been planning at the time, but he can make custom ones for you if you like. Hopefully this is what you guys were talking about.

Anyone know the chances of using a BRP or S&P mount with these frame mounts and positioning of a T56 shifter?

Is this the same Darius as the 240ZX with a blown LT1 made famous by the videos?

 

Videos? I have several pics of his car which is a maroon hatchback S13 with a lot of metal flake in the paint and practically stock gray interior.

I'll see what I can dig up tonight. The vids are of a ~70 240ZX with a Vortech SC'd LT1 not a S13 240SX.

hey very cool stuff you guys, LS1+240sx = sweetness. I wanted to build one too, but the 2nd Gen RX7 is so easy to find for cheap and the mount kits are complete bolt in with no changes to the steering rack so I decided to build an RX7 instead... I'm very happy with it. I'd love to see more pics of your LS1240SX buildups though! especially the underside/cradle/rack/mounts/firewall... thanks. and get some fender flares on those 240's so ytou can fit some wider tires out back!

 

yeah, I've seen vids of an Ls1 240Z. Was impressive seeing him leave a strip of rubber a few car lengths long that started at 45-50 mph.

Owen, where did you find the kit for the FC-3S? Is this an LS1 kit?

 

New to the forums but not to 240sx. I have the good ole SR20DET in my '96 240sx but I'm tired of spending money on it and it not having as much horsepower as i would like. I'm getting an '03 LS1 corvette motor to do the swap. I also emailed the "Swap" guy for the parts I will need. I'll post all the pics as I am going to do the swap myself with a friend in his garage. Hopefully it won't be too complicated but as with any swap...

I just think that more horsepower for less money is the right way to go. Japanese stuff is nice but it's just to damn expensive and parts are hard to find. Although the domestic V8 is new to me, I'm excited to learn all about it.
