Grand Prix to LS1 Check this out. I've got a friend who drives a neon. He's looking for a new car and there is a V6 Grand Prix here in town for pretty cheap. Not sure of the year or tranny...I think 98, auto. I've got him thinking about that and maybe an LS1 or 5.3 swap. Only I'm not too familiar with these cars. Anyone know what all would be required to do this swap? He needs something with some nads! Help me get him away from rice burners and turds.

A 98 Grand Prix is FWD. You can wait until the 06 Montes come out with the 5.3 and swap in the drivetrain from a wrecked one. Converting to RWD would be too difficult/expensive.
The best thing to do is either buy an f-body with and LS1, do a V6 to LS1 swap in an f-body, or just mod a GTP if you don't mind the FWD.
