Corvette Fuel Filter/Reg hook up
#3
I am using a hard line at the output, not a braided line. I had the barb cut off the fuel rail and a male -06 AN fitting brazed on. I then had the cut off barb from the fuel rail welded onto some straight tubing and hooked it up to the filter.

russell adapters
you can order hard tube adapters that will clip on the 10 mm quick disconnect male hard tube that is on the filter and the fule rail that change them over to 6 an (army navy) ( part # rus64085) from summit you will need two of them and then you will need the 6 an to male q.d. to go into the regulators female connection on (part# aei-15103) the rest of it you can hard line or ss hose frome the reg to fuel rail and just use 3/8 hose and clamps from the tank to the pump (on an inline system ) and on the return side. Now for the bad news russell has 300 of these back ordered and wont be caught up to production until the end of the month if you are lucky. But however you can call street and performance and they can hook you up with there version of these adapters for about twice the money. But they do have them and an adapter in hand is worth more than two in the book.
hope this helps

You can also get a union that is compression on one side and AN on the other. S&P as well as several other vendors sell these fittings Or you can buy them from pipe fitting suppliers. The manufacturer is Swagelok, and you can save some real money by buying them from an industrial supplier rather then some of the hot rod shops. They are made from 316 stainless, and are not cheap, but they work very well, and look great when polished to a mirror finish! I also use them at the fuel rail end to come back off of the braided stainless hose.

NAPA sells fuel lines with the correct barb. I got one of these, cut off the excess, and used the Russell hard tube adapter to go to -6 braided hose.

this is what i did. 96 impala gas tank, mounted fuel filter/reg back near the tank, junk yard stop.90 to 93 lumina fuel lines up under the hood. about 13 inch long with female quick dis at both ends for return and supply 5 bucks. broke off the 3/8 supply hard line ends with the male end from the lumina (make sure to keep some extra line to flair it) used a union for hard line with one of the male ends from the lumina out of the filter/reg. hard line up to the ls1,another union with the other male hard line from lumina and thats where i am . going back to junk yard need one more short lumina hose to get to fuel rail mike

No, that's the Walbro in-line pump.
Jeff,
I don't think it's backwards (but it's been a long time since I took the pic so I'm not positive).

The picture shows the pump feeding the outlet of the filter.
Just wanted to clarify that for anyone who is not familiar with these filters. The inlet is the larger barb, the outlet is the female fitting on the other end and the regulator return is the smaller barb. The pump has to be installed upstream (tank side) of the filter/ regulator for it to work properly.
