well lets just say nobody has a gasoline powered ls1 running 59psi at over 1500 HP...marko on this board just sold his supra which did this...not saying it isnt possible for the ls1, but it would need some serious work, and 4 head bolts per cylinder dont help the ls1 any either

The World Products block is 5 per cylinder.

i know this, but he was asking why an ls1 would blow up at 2jz boost levels...which can be as high as 60psi

Do it! A turbo v8 would just make those cars much more fun to drive. I've driven a 650+ rwhp single'd supra, fun, but the all or nothing powerband is not my cup of tea.

The fact is, an LS1 wouldn't NEED the typical insane boost levels of the 3 liter six to make the same power

It also wouldn't need the same peak power numbers to be as fast...Its all about area under the curve.

I would definitely have to agree with that here is an LS1 in the 6's on 32 pounds of boost and over 1600 horsepower.

Ok im ignorant? First off i said 8 second not 9 second its a pretty big difference when you start going that fast in case you haven't noticed. But even an 8 second supra (im assuming they are out there and most likely even faster than that i haven't done the research however) I was just simply asking if its possible. I even conceded that it seems it ought to be possible. I haven't driven a twin turbo vette nor a single turbo 50 psi supra have you? I didn't ask for smart aleck remarks. Besides that these guys with turbo cars don't necessarily need the ridiculous lift and duration on their cams to make the big numbers.

Turbo cars a differnt animals........... You can drive a very high 8sec supra. Why dont you ask marco? Im sure he will tell you. Im saying its easyer to drive not that you can.

WHEW!FELLERS GETTIN A LITTLE HOSTILE THERE.IT IS CORRECT THAT THERE ARE LOW 9-8 SECOND SUPRAS, RUNNIN UP THE THE BOOST GAGE,BUT THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT THE F-BODY IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE SUPRA ON A DAILY BASIS AND MORE CONVENTIONAL, FACT IN POINT MY FORMER F-BODY WAS AN 00 WS6/M6 WITH MY QUIKEST TIMES BEING 10.3O-1O.40'S.I WILL COME ACROSS 10-15, 10SEC F-BODIES BEFORE I COME ACROSS 1 9 SEC SUPRA. EVEN H-TOWN WHERE I STAY-NO SCRATCH THAT.H-TOWN IS LOADED WITH ALL KINDS OF KWIK F-BODIES.I GOT MY *** HANDED TO ME MORE TIMES THAT I CARE TO ADMIT BY F-BODIES, AND MY T/A WAS IN THE MID 10'S BRACKET.THE ONLY SUPRA I RACED AND SMOKED BY ABOUT 5-6 CAR LENTHS DID NOT COMPARE TO F-BODIES I WENT UP AGAINST.I DIDNT EVEN RACE THE SUPRA IN MY FULL TRIM AND PUMP GAS I USED 2STAGE CUSTOM N2O SETUP.AT THE END OF THE RACE WITH THE SUPRA THE GUY USED THE EXCUSE THATMY CAR WAS A V8 AND THAT MY CAR HAD A BIGGER MOTOR, AND SO-ON,SO-ON.YA ALREDY KNO WHAT HIS NEXT REMARK WAS(RACE ME FROM A ROLL) ON THE FREEWAY.

put the v8 turbo in there alreadyyy you could probably get to single digits easily with under 1000 hp unlike any other supra. could probably do it with 600-700

I guess if you already have the engine built and you are trying to be different than go for it. I just don't think you are going to get better over all performance out of it.

Hell you guys don't even have any eight second six speed cars yet.

Sleepersupra, What Is The Fastest 2jz?also What Is The Fastest 6 Speed Supra?in H-town Theres Worm Boy Who Is Turnin 8.22 @170. I Believe That That The Kwikest T56 Is A Viper Then Again I Dont Know What Type Of 6 Speed The Supra Uses.please Enlighten Me.
