So this worm runs 8.22 in an LS1 with the factory six speed? Very impressive! Must be the quickest six speed in the world. I thought that a TT-Viper held the quickest six speed in the world record at 8.75@168, that was on a built six speed. There are two Supra's that have run in the eights on the factory six speed tranny.

Paul Efantis ran a 8.97@166.6 in a full weight 6speed Supra.

And Ryan Woon ran a 8.99@165.76 in his full weight 6speed car.

Those are the only cars that I know of in the eights on a six speed. There could be a couple of Fox body Mustang's there too.

There are seven, possibly nine, 2JZ-GTE's in the sixes. How many LS1's are there?

i only know of one "casper" 6.8x at 205...but your forgetting something, the market for turbo ls1's has only been around for a year or two...how long have people been at turbo supras? hell since the 80's...f bodys are catching up fast, and btw, fastest f body with a 6 speed is tanners car, 9.40 at 148...and its a nitrous fed LT1...but im gonna do my best to go 8's with the 6 speed, two MP t-70s, and a 150 shot

Hey I never said that the LS1 will not eventually surpass the 2JZ-GTE in all aspects of performance, but it is not there yet. I think the LS series of engines is awesome, lots of potential.
I just don't care for some of these ignorant people that always have to talk down on something they have no knowledge about.

Like I said earlier... I think it would be different to put an LS1 in a Supra chassis, but you are not going to reinvent the wheel. You will find out after all of your hard work that the car is really no better off performance wise than if you did a nice 2JZ-GTE build. They are both great engines and they are very close together in performance capability.

Good luck on your project and I am sure that either way it will be a bad *** car.

Well im glad that you have now explained your position. I wrongfully assumed you were on here to just put down LS1's and say that that Supras are better blah blah. I appologize for some of my comments. I agree both are great motors the 2Jz has more than provent itself as has the LS1 and the improvements keep on coming. I consider you an intelligent person to be interested in other types of motors and their potential.

Thanks!

The stock rear end has held up to 7.9@180 in a 3315 pound Supra, should be about 1780 hp at the flywheel.

BTW... That's with a 1.3 second 60' time.

I even conceded that it seems it ought to be possible. I haven't driven a twin turbo vette nor a single turbo 50 psi supra have you? I didn't ask for smart aleck remarks. Besides that these guys with turbo cars don't necessarily need the ridiculous lift and duration on their cams to make the big numbers.

acutally markos car ran low-mid 8s and was his daily driver for awhile
