I would put the 2j back in the car....

why?

Ease of the job compared to the fabricating required to put a lsx motor in.
Resale of the car. Good luck trying to sell a lsx supra.

I was just speaking that i understand what hes trying to say. I already know how an engine and a turbocharger work.

Default go for it

I think it's a good idea. Although I would go with at least a 382 if you're going through the headache of doing an engine swap anyways. When I put the ls1 in my rx-7, I should've put a built bigger motor in it.

Another thing is pushing 1000hp from 3 liters is not the same as 1000hp from a 5.3. I bet the turbo torque doesn't come in til about 4500rpm, and when it does it probably hits too hard. The flatter more linear power bands of turbo v8s are more fun I think. Turbo response is most likely better with a v8, obviously.

It all depends on the turbo. A greddy 88 is like an on/off switch, while some other turbos of the same size or bigger are MUCH smoother. Smaller turbo's in the < 71mm size produce a very nice power band/curve.

Bottom line is, for a 2j, 1000 rwhp will not be made on a turbo that hits full boost below 5k rpm with n2o.

1978 V-12 Jaguar conv. 435whp, show car
1987 MAZDA RX-7 , 490whp much turbo runs 10.80s 126mph
