Default 4.3 rebuild, or V8 swap

I know someone has done this before, but I was looking to see who all has done this . . . pics, and the do`s, and don'ts

I've either got to rebuild the 4.3, or put in a V8.

It shouldn't be hard. Those trucks are made for em. I don't understand why your truck doesn't have a v8 if its z 4x4.

I haven't done it so here is you a TTT.

Nope it's nota a Z, or a 4x4, it's a 2wd that I lifted on 33's front and rear. But it's gota lifter that's playing Jingle Bells under the hood.

yeah, but he fabed his own motor mounts, and has an auto. . . .
Can I use the old stand offs for the V6 mounts, and move the rear crossmember back, re-drill, swap the computer, harness . . . . I already have a 2 row radior, what else?

I think you are talking to me;

you can't use v6 mounts, they are too small, the engine side mount won't fit inside of it.

the transmission mount is in the perfect location if you choose to slide the engine back like the v6, you'll have to fab some mounts and support the rear of the mounts like the v6, this keeps from having to cut the front crossmember.

you can use the z28 computer and buy ls1edit to do the rest after you get it flashed, maybe you won't need to flash it.

i lengthened the driveshaft a couple of inches, i'll get the exact measurement if you need it, but your application will probably vary.

you can use the "ls1" truck harness, just cut the big connector off (the square one) and hook all the wires where they go, it's easier than it looks.

make sure you get the 4l60E that has the truck shift indicator not the f-body., you'll probably need a cable shifter also,

also, fab a mount for the a/c compressor, it will sit on the passenger side of the engine.
