ok guys...i'm new here but i've been around. i got my ls1 saturday and i'm ready to start. the recipiant is a 94 volvo 940 sedan(volvetto). the donor was a 98 firebird auto. i know this might sound like an unlikely combo to some but i love the stealthy nature of it and the numbers really add up. the volvo weighs in at a svelte 3200 lb curb weight. with the ls1/4a, it should be plenty fun to comute in and perfect for towing my rabbit (1800lbs/230hp) to the track. i might be looking for a taller rear end (i think the volvo's 3.73 might be a little short) but we'll just have to wait and see. i know it doesn't have the glamour of some of the other swaps you see...but i hope in a few months the undeniable beauty of this beast will become apparent. pictures to follow soon.

Motor is all over the place: 6.0L block, 5.3 heads (for right now but not 100%), ZO6 cam, 4L60E trans. Plan on running Vette intake, TB (by Wire). Camaro Rad and AC Condensor.
Car is just getting started. Flathead is out and cleaning up area for the new LSX. After it is running I plan on giving her a good 6-6 1/2" chop. Should be interesting.

We will be dropping in a 6.2 Caddy VVT motor with the 6 speed 6L80 transmission. Parts are being acquired but is a slow process since this is '07 model year stuff. We are waiting for the 2WD Escalade to be released so we can pull the transmission off the production line like we already did on the motor. Website is www.classicresto.com under Future Projects for 86 Grand Prix
Dropping in a '00 LS1 with a M6 and an 88 Corvette IRS. Look at www.classicresto.com under Current Projects
We are in the process of removing the 405HP LS6 motor and installing the '07 LS7 Z06 into the C5 chassis. Stay tuned to www.classicresto.com under Past Projects for the 03 Corvette Z06 in the next couple of weeks. The LS7 is due in at the dealer the week after Labor Day

I have a bazzillion parts on the way. Should be a great ride when it's done. But first, I must get the foundation finished!
Anyway this is a great site with awesome information. Thanks!
