1961 VW Bug with 99 LS1/T-56. The car had a 95 LT1/T56 in for a year. Wanted to lighten up. The car has a 3.5 inch chop, 3.55 posi, and gets about 60 mile a day put on the odometer. If I knew how to put a picture on this I would.

Re: Conversion folks please list your conversion in here
1971 Dodge Charger. I've got the car and I'm in the planning stages of the swap. It's currently a 400cid big block with a 727 3spd auto. I'm looking to go with an LS1 of some sort. Probably a stroker would be best because the Charger has a lot of steel to get moving. I'm thinking a forced induction setup would be a go because I'll have lots of room under the hood to get creative. I want to back it with a T56 but that might not work well due to the layout of the car. I know Keisler has a T5 kit that works but I really want that double overdrive. *shrug* We'll see. If I can get the T56 to work I'm going to go with a 4.10 rear. If not, 3.9 or so will be a good compromise. I don't have a website up yet for the project because I don't even have any "before" pics yet.

Any more?
LS1Tech will be up and running with a new look very soon and there will be a link section for all of the conversions... We can do a photo gallery too of the engine bays if folks are interested.

Plenty of room under the hood after all the turbo support stuff was removed.
The best i can figure is the LS1 is about 70# lighter than the 2.6 turbo 4 banger that was removed.
The T56 weighes about twice the stock five speed.
Should be right at 3000# with the stock leather interior.
Everything is in. All we have left is the exhaust, wiring and plumbing.
The rear end is going changed over the winter.
I am also using:
Howe racing vortec radiator
Dana 44 center section out of a Dodge Viper
97 Vette fuel rail, fuel pump and motor mounts
B&M ripper shifter
Full set of Auto Meter gauges
Lokar throttle cable
Stock wiring Harness
3/4 bore wilwood clutch cylinder
Hope to have pictures posted soon.

Re: Conversion folks please list your conversion in here
I've got a 1968 Chevy, Shortwide, 2wd pickup with a 98 corvette engine. I haven't fired it yet but will very soon. I just started the conversion 2 weeks ago and should have in running in a week.
I am using a AEM stand alone race computer.
Dual exhaust with 2.5" flowmasters.
I will make a dyno tuned cold air, intake pipe once it's running.
700R4 4 speed automatic.
My goals are eventually 350+ RWHP, 25mpg, and a 12 second 1/4. We'll see what happens......
Enough talk, gotta run, I'm finishing up the fuel system tonight. I'll post some pics soon.

Re: Conversion folks please list your conversion in here
I took and put a 2000 Corvette LS-1 in my 93' model Ext.cab Chevy P/U truck. It's been running sence Oct. and I LOVE IT!!! It runs really well, alot better than I was exspecting!I got 4L60E out of a 2000 Trans Am.I took it to the track for the first time the other day and ran a 13.59@ 99.94mph before, it ran a 16.12@86.10mph, needless to say i'm very pleased with my investment! NO mods done to the motor yet.
