Default Starter motor problem - HELP!!!

I've got a 2002 LS1 in a kit car. Has been starting with no problems for ages now. Parked it in the garage yesterday but when I tried to start it today, the starter motor wouldn't turn.

I turn the key, get the fuel pump whirring for a couple of seconds. Press the starter button and get a loud "click" from the starter relay, but not even an attempt to turn the engine. I had a problem with a bad battery before, which made a "tick-tick-tick" noise from the starter area, but this is different.

Any clues?

Robin
Have you checked all connections on starter and battery ?
These could easily have vibrated loose after your SVA trip.

It was a loose connection - thank goodness. Went into a bit of a flap there. Nearly paid you a visit after SVA (I did get REALLY lost on the way home and had to drive for miles down various back lanes before I got home!!)

Starter is on the driver's side in a right hand drive car - that would be the passenger side on the original. Mine is from a Canadian Firebird and was completely stock
