Hello. I got ahold of a clutch hydraulic line from a 2000 S10 4.3L but the quick connect on the line is different from the one on the T56. I went to a shop that fabricates hydraulic lines and they told me they had never seen those kinds of fittings before. Is there a place on the web I can buy the right line or have one made? thanks for the help guys.

Ok, after some searching I found some Russell quick disconnect to -3AN adapters. Is the braided part of the stock 4.3L line 3AN? I measured the OD and it's 5/16~3/8. Also, how much of each fluid (motor oil, manual trans fluid, power steering, hydraulic) will I need if I'm using an H2 oil pan?

use h3 pan, fab up a 2" pipe for t56 crossmember. currentperfomance.com for harness, ecu tune, headers, radiator, mounts, and even ac. got a 8.5 out of junk yard for $150 with disc brakes. 255 in tank pump with braided lines and add a regulator. the clutch hydrolics out of f body just cut ur own hole. cut driveshaft i think a few inches and get some vette rims with spacers on front and u got a lsx s10. not really too hard of a swap.

get great deals in the ls1tech classifields.

all my gauges work, ac in progress, and reliable.

truck runs 11.83 @ 117.5 mph with h/c ls1 m6, and drag radials

Default S-10 and Blazer gear carriers.

Ok, lets try and straighten out some rearend myths here.
1.) There are 3 different rearend widths available for the S10. Narrowest is the 2wd, the std 4wd is 4" wider, and the ZR2 is 4" wider still (8" wider than 2wd). So, for the guy in question, unless he's currently using 2" thick spacers, he'll want a 2wd width rearend.

2.) Most Blazers and S10s have the 7.5 / 7.625" rear, relatively few have the 8.5" 10-bolt, so they're a bit more $$$.

3.) From what I understand, only 4.3 V6 5speed trucks got the 8.5" rear (starting in like '97 or '98), and it was available in all 3 widths (2wd, 4wd, ZR2). If you look hard enough, you can even find factory disk brake equipped 8.5" rears with posi / limited slip.

4.) Certain special models (like the Bravada) always have posi / limited slip.
For all other applications, posi / limited slip is an option and is dependent upon what the original purchaser / dealership ordered.

5.) (Warning - Opinion) The GM posi / limited slip that is installed in these rearends (both 7.5 / 7.625" and the 8.5" rears) is a complete POS. Its called an Eaton Gov-Loc, is weak, and has been known to grenade and wipe out otherwise good rearends. It is activated by a difference in axleshaft rpms (one has to be spinning faster than the other by about 100rpm), which means its more of a limited spin than a limited slip. And, once you're going faster than 25mph and let off the throttle, it disengages (so if you're cruising along at 30mph and nail the throttle (with enough hp), you get 1 wheel peel). Not the best situation, in my opinion.

6.) I think (but am not sure about) the Xtremes got the 8.5" rear axle. Would certainly be wise to identify it for certain.

There is at least 1 very informative post on BlazinLow.com that has information on how to differentiate between the 7.5 "/ 7.625" and 8.5" 10-bolts. You might check it out.

Ok, I just felt it necessary to make a correction about the gear carriers these trucks have. What You're calling limited slip/posi traction is actually what is called "GOV-LOCK" in those smaller trucks and blazers. They are detroit locker on 1 side and clutch pack on the other side. I know this because I purchased one from a truck only junk yard and put it in my 1980 Z-28 Camaro. The only problem I can think of would be decelerating from a high speed maybe the locker would unlock causing 1 rear tire to "let loose", if You will, causing a possible spin out. I'm just thinking of possible scenarios. I drove that car very fast on the freeway at times and never had that happen, of course I had KYB's, 5-leaf packs Trans-Am sway bars Big block fr coils, Energy susp bushings, BFG 275-50-15 rear, 265-50-15 front............etc. The Camaro Z-28 carrier ring gear size was 8.75", so I would assume the sm trucks larger carriers were the same.

If you are not running emissions controls, then you can plug it up.

Yes, the truck intake fits under and S-10 hood:

is that your truck? if so, what mounts do you need for a gen2 s10 2wd to make the truck intake fit with the stock hood, i like the intake cover too, nice stock look.

Does anybody know the size of the adapter needed to fit a 4.3l coolant temperature sensor into the ls1 heads and where to find one?

I don't think there is one adapter for it i think you have to buy a couple to make it work. Most people just mill the threads down on the CTS that came with the truck. Or you could relocate the sensor to the thermostat housing or drill the head to the size you need. I dont remember the exact size it was either 12x1.75 or 12x1.5.

It's been a while since I looked, but I think they are too wide. I have a 4x4 rear from a bravada and the wheels from my 2000 SS bolt right on, perfect fit. I had to run either 2.25" or 2.5" spacers for the front, and that's about how much wider the 4x4 rear is.

Edit- found it in this thread

Are you looking for a 8.5"? I gave up on mine so I just got an 8.5 out of a '95 Silverado and I'm gonna put new tubes on it and rebuild the rest.
