Anyone running a carb'd LSX? Anyone running a carburated LSX? I'm considering that for my 73 Z/28. Marc |
id say its a pretty good swap, |
I'm doing one in my 70 Javelin, i want something different, so it's carbed, Richmond 5 speed with a blow thru Vortech. Mocking it now......having oil pan problems that i didn't anticipate.... :bang: |

In a few months I'll be doing a carbed 408 in my 73 Camaro. Doesn't look too difficult. Headers seem to be the biggest issue. TJ, nice car. John told me about your setup. Hal |

Hal I think I'm just going to run F-body exhaust manifolds to get the car going and then I'll look into headers. Marxjunk, I can see all the knucleheads now......"That thing got a Hemi"  |
are you guys running creat engines or just buying 2nd hand units????? Chris. |
I intend to buy a new engine, not exactly sure which one just yet but I'm going new :) My preference is to hope my current old school sbc takes a liking to some spray for this season and then in the fall I'll yank the motor and start on the swap. Marc |
Here's the the 6.0 just starting on it. |
Hmmmm...pic din't work, strange, any ideas why not? thanks.... Oh yeah............hemi's suck! Boat anchors.LoL |
I have been thinking about doing a carbed ls1 swap because I cant stand the fact that I cant tune it myself with EFI. Does anyone know who makes the kit to use a SBF distributor? I think a real mild low comp ls1 with a blow through setup would make big power and would be a no brainer to seyup and tune. |

I have my motor mocked in my engine compartment, and there is 24 inches from in front of the motor to the core support, now thats compact. I spent the money and bought a plastic replica/mock up motor....worth every cent, weighs 15 lbs. and it has inserts and every accessory bolts up like stock, and the motor weighs 15 lbs. i have been picking it up and setting it in the engine compartment by hand. It weighs 15 lbs, did i mention it weighs 15 pounds? I have pics of that ford conversion, pm me, i will email it, i cant figure out how to post pics yet........mj |
ill be going carb in my 2002 z28 because of tuning issues.. i already have the single plane intake and msd timing controller.... its gonna be a sick setup no matter what the efi guys say... i dont mind running efi but noone within 2 hours can tune the damn thing. |

Problem solved! that will work. have pipe bender, or at least a c clamp available and they should fit real close. not sure the spacing on the ports, but anything is possilbe. id stay away from the distributer. i went ls1 to stay away from all that crap. coils own! edelbrock box, or the new MSD if you want some tuning thrown in the mix. i dont see the purpose in running the WAR(Wagner) setup. |
