OOooooo PV for a showdown!!

What's the date for that ? Has it been set?

Hope it doesn't clash with either my hols, or Rockingham - where I will be going around in circles with my "Pontiac Grand Prix" (that's LS1 powered!)(and isn't really a Pontiac Grand Prix - it's an ASCAR or ASA Pro Series car for our American readers)

If it doesn't I'd probably try to bring both of them to the show.

It might be good for the sponsors!! (or even finding some!)

Rob.

That's one hell of a transmission tunnel! Are you going to have room for your feet?

Nice work....but make the shifter hole bigger just in case you want to change it in situ.
Or indeed be able to remove the trans only.

Although Im sure you've already thought of this

very nice work. with the end of the T56 there, i assume that the rest of the tunnel needs to be enlarged??

Thanks Stevie, can you foresee any need to change the shifter ?

Thanks mate, yes the tunnel will be cut out and refabricated after we`ve fitted the rollcage, to keep the car as straight as possible.

No....but removeal of the box, generally requires removal of the shifter...

if only from a maintenance point of view, and future proofing, Id make the hole big enough, so you can remove it.

Sods law and all that.

I think it should be rectangular, so you can access all 4 bolts of the shifter on top of the box....

Yeah...Ide definetly make that hole rectangular and bigger. Im sure with your fab skills, you can make it a nice access panel so that it still looks slick.

Even if you never plan to remove the shifter, as stated above, you probably wont be able to remove the trans. That requires the trans to be slid back a good bit, and it will get stuck in that hole.

Anyway...Just my opinion. Ide wait until you make the cage and all. Then just make the acess panel.

Also wanted to tell you again great work! I cant wait to see this thing done and hear how you like it. Its gonna be a blast for sure.
