Question

I love your 59. I have a few questions. I have a 63 Impala, I have a LS1 and 4L60E out of 98 camaro. What motor mounts did you use? I found some in Summit will they work? I've heard other people say that the altanator will hit my 605 powersteering box but from looking at your pictures its not hitting. Did you have a problem with this? Do you know if a set of hooker block hugger headers will work? Last did you have any clearance problems with this motor in the car? Thanks

We Typically will fabricate the mounts to get optimum engine/trans placement, but I tried a set of "cheapie" Trans DApt mounts, and everything worked out nicely. The alternator-605 box clearance is only about 1/8", but there is clearance. We did have to modify the pan a bit.

No Idea on the headers, we built the turbo headers.

4L80 Trans fits nice, no trans to tunnel clearance problems. We fabbed the trans crossmember.

The motor runs, and I hope to have it tuned next week. Here is a pic from a couple weeks ago, before we installed the radiator, intercooler, and fabbed the cold-side plumbing.

we had to cut the corners down, in the front half of the pan. THey were slightly touching the crossmember, and it wouldnt allow the engine to sit all the way down.
