275/40 would be awesome all the way around. The wheels I am looking at are 17x9 with 5.25 backspace or 8mm offset. The front would obviously be the place I'd have issues. I'm thinking about getting two wheels and scrape up some used 275/40 and see if they rub. If not at least they will fit on the back. Pontiacs have different front fender openings and different inner fenders.
Also thinking I need to get the hooker headers from your pics they look even with the f body pan and trans. Mine hang way below that. About 2" of the ground. My pan is basically even with the front cross member. Our mounts are different but our pan location looks identical. Hopefully I Dont have to raise it for the headers to fit.

Parts list
Well it is time I start a thread to keep track of my swap progress. I have a '71 Chevelle that I will be putting a 02' LS1 and a
'00 T56. My T56 came w/ a Ram dual friction clutch, centerforce billet flywheel and Pro 5.0 shifter. I have decided on doing a H/C swap before I install the motor.
My Chevelle weighed about 3500 lbs w/ an iron 350 so I'm hoping to drop a little weight. Going from a th350 to T56 so I will be adding clutch pedal and hydraulics. I have a pedal set from a '99 Camaro, T56 console, and '95 Impala SS tank. I will be running a Racetronix kit w/ 255 Walbro in tank pump.
My car w/ the buggy:
Fun new parts:
LS1/T56:
Harness:
Hooker Super Comp LT:
Aluminum Radiator:
New Dash w/ Autometer gauges:

If you have the engine/ trans combo and a tank it seems like you'd just need some fuel line from a salvage yard, a corvette pressure regulator and a relay/ power wire to feed the pump (might want to replace the pump now while it's out of the car, dropping the tank to do it is a huge pain in the ***).
I bought a racetronix fuel pump harness and it's really just some wire, $1.50 worth of connectors and a relay, and depending on whether you place more value on your time or your money it wouldn't be hard to make one. The same could be said for the various T56 pigtails and electric fan controls if they aren't in your harness already.

I don't know anything about the pump that's in it, but considering how cheap they are I'd replace it regardless. Swapping a pump with the tank out of the car is a five minute job, swapping it once the tank is in and full is a nightmare (unless you've cut a hole in your trunk for a hatch, but still it's a pain).
No reason that walbro wouldn't work, at least no reason I'm aware of. Pretty sure that's what most people use.
As for the painless harness, I'm not sure which one you are referring to, do you mean to run the motor and etc or one dedicated to the fuel pump? If you don't have a dedicated power and relay for the fuel pump I'd suggest adding one to avoid burning up pumps, just wire it in to your engine harness. Cheap insurance.
