I got the clutch master installed. I just need to drill the hole for the brake master, paint the parts and add a travel limiter. It wasn't really that hard to get everything lined up.

Here are a couple pics.
Disregard the dirty firewall it will be painted soon. I still need to mount the resivoir as well.

Clutch pedal mods:

Also need a shorter bolt.

Two questions:

How thick is the plate you used for the hydraulic cylinder bracket?
Do you know if it's 100% necessary to use that U-bolt for mounting to the bracket? I just realized I don't have one of those guys. I was going to use regular old bolts.

I used some plate just smaller than 1/8". It was really close to 1/8 and the guy cut ne a deal on it.

I originally bolted it w/ normal bolts, but after looking at John B's site I was like oh thats what that thing is for. The guy I got my trans from included it. I think bolts would be fine. I don't know why GM chose this bracket.

I used 1/8" steel. But I re-enforced the area where the bend is by welding some extra steel in the "V" to help keep it's form. I am only using Bolts and washers.

I got greeted by some goodies when I got home today. I can get started on installing fuel lines now. I think I am going to get new fuel rails so I will need to order those and a couple more fittings. I have to send my fuel pressure gauge line back because I need a longer one.

I sent a couple gauges back to autometer to get tested and the needles were faded. I had them since '97 and for $50 total they sent me brand new gauges.

I got the trans crossmember in. I just cut off the tab and flipped it over, then welded it back on.

Test fit of the console and shifter. It's a Pro-5.0 w/ Lou's Short Stick.

I started putting the trans tunnel back in last night. I should have it finished in a couple days. I will post pics then.

what kind of an angle does that put your driveshaft at with the crossmember flange mounted down that low?

I did mine flipped the other way and my angle ended up being greater than I really wanted like maybe 4 deg (don't remember) but I realize they're two totally different transmissions though.

You're making good progress, keep up the good work

It is about 2-3*. I bought another angle finder to double check, but after the first drop it was less accurate than my old one. I wish I had a digital one.

With it where it is I have more room to shim it up and down if necessary, but i don't think it will be needed.

What type crossmember do you have? It looks like the rear of the trans is totally different as well. The mounting point on the T56 is much lower than your trans. I would say 2-3" lower than yours, thus the different placement of the tab.

Just add a spacer to yours to move it up some. Should be easy enough.

Stealth: does the tubular part of the crossmember touch the the tranny case any ?

Did your xmember had to be bent any ?

I am dropping the combo in next weekend and I am curently debating on fabbing my own xmember like you did or buying one ($$$$) from BRP(they are close to my home)....
