Default Chevelle exhaust question

I am starting a 6.0/4L80 conversion next month and have an exhaust question. I know I need to run F body exhaust manifolds but was wondering if anyone has tryed a set of shorty headers in this application? I dont see why they would not work.

Before anyone jumps on me about using the search function I already tried it. It does not seem to be working right now.

There are a lot of options on Shorty vs stock mainfolds.. but most of them state that there is not much gain in using short headers and to just go LT if your going to make the effort.

But if they work for you.. use them. I am just using the Stock 99 mainfolds for now and will get some LT later.

As bczee mentioned there is little to no gain available from shorty headers. If you want them for looks its a viable option. Unfortunately the hooker A-body headers are not exactly cheap but they would be the best option.

I am running the hooker LT's. I agree that shorty's are not worth the investment performance wise. I am not sure how much they are, but if you are going to spend the money I would put it towards LT's or run stock manifolds for a more budget friendly option.

I have a set of Fbody exaust manifolds I am selling in this forum. I had the air pump stuff cut out and welded closed this was 3 holes that needed to be tiged shut. I couldn't weld them with my mig. I am not sure why but I needed to pay to have them welded. I was going to use them on my car but I found a set of shortys... I will sell them for 60.00 plus shipping if you decide to go this way.. Thanks!
