i know im digging up a thread that hasnt been posted on in a month now, but what did you end up doing with the coolant tube that comes out by the throttle body? is it going to the fitting on your radiator hose? i know that the GTO had a coolant surge tank from the factory and i'm curious if i should build one for this malibu that i'm installing an LS2 into.

Thanks, I considered it a long road test , I brought a full set of tools and parts along not needing any of it. Plus there is plenty of help on the tour if needed.JOHN

I have followed this build thread before, but I just realized who you are. The flat black paint threw me off. I did not know this was the same car that got pulled over in Alabama!
PM me when you figure out who I am.

John, I just got the new issue of Hot Rod (October). There is a picture of your car on the autocross track in Birmingham. It is on page 58 in the top right corner. Just thought you might like to know.

Oh yes! We will definately be there. I don't know if we will be able to make the whole thing, be we will do as much as we possible. We had a blast!
Chip is working on his Chevelle and my brother is now working on his 73 Z28. Both cars will have LS engines in them. I think that the power tour motivated them! If they are not ready, I guess we will be in my Chevy II again. (It maybe turbocharged by then).
We had a good time hanging out with you guys. We will have to catch up with you next year.
Your car is really nice. I know that when people see it, they don't suspect what is lurking under the hood. I had a pretty good idea after seeing it on the highway!
85th huh? Well at least you had fun. I would have liked to have run the autocross, but I threw the car together so fast to get it on the tour that I didn't want to push my luck.

Thanks for the compliment . the coupling is a hump hose coupling and a 45 by the air filter ordered from silicone intakes . com , I believe they are 4 inch but i'm not positive . I also made a bracket to support the setup near the filter , look in post # 181 for a pic.I made my my own brackets for the compressor, I did try the vint air stuff but it did not clear the chasis. and this system uses the main belt using the stock idler pulley.I can send you a set of templates for the brackets . there are kits that will mount the compressor high on the pass side if you dont mind it up higher. Pics of the brackets are somewhere in this thread. The interior grilles--I did not buy the kit I pieced it in here and there.they are from vint air , I think the side ones are an optional vent , I did not use the curved part of the bezel being that the area where they are mounted is mostly flat the center is theirs to a real pain to install being that there is nothing left of the dash strip when you are finished cutting it and it is real delicate at that point.AlsoI used their smaller diameter hose on ALL the outlets and either used their adaptors off the evaporator box and taped them in at the side vents - there was no enough room under the dash for the larger hoses.I am mostly pleased with the system,it is blowing cool but it seems to not keep up on really hot days, I need to go over the system and double check everything. What are you installing this in ? any pics ? JOHN
