^nope, just a few F-bodies and Mustangs around here beating up on ricers. I drove my car around for a few months and decided to tear it down and build it while i am here, not much of a muscle car scene.

Pretty much how it was back then, ricers abound. I do have two friends still hanging out and building cars, one with a blue ls1 gto, other has a 03 cobra black with red hood stripes. Well let me quit clogging up the thread.

Are the motor mounts and the trans mount going to line up or will you have to make something?

trans crossmember will have to be mounted properly to align it all, just drill some new holes in the frame and mount the stock xmember. thats the plan at least, will let you know in a few months

Also, are you gonna use the olds motor mounts or the LS1 motor mounts, well I guess it would make since to use LS1 mounts and make the fit the frame.

OK, seriously, that's a great-looking car, & a pretty cool build you've got going. Looks like another thread that I'll have to keep track of...

If you are considering them check the stuff you are paying for when you get there. They advertised my motor as a 2005 35k mile complete pull out with all dbw. When I got home I discovered the pedal and black box was not included. Also the inventory tag said 2003 right on it. Just a heads up.

Made a little progress today. Installed ARP rod bolts uneventfully and bolted up my trans-dapt motor conversion plates. I found the particular sbc mounts that come with them are the short and wide variants and will not work with the trans-dapt BOP-SBC conversion frame mounts I have, so tall & narrow mounts will be necessary. I think the tall and narrows will be necessary for tie rod clearance anyhow so not a big deal.
