I can't believe I have never caught this thread before! On top of that you are stationed in the same town I'm in. LOL Anyway the build is coming along very nicely, keep it up I can't wait to see/hear it around town. I kind of knew about your build last year from Jason in the black Z28 but I never met you in person.

Man this is an awesome thread, I have a 72 Cutlass S, and this swap is high on my list to do. Hopefully I can get a job this summer instead of doing stuff for college. This thread is being really inspiring, I doubt I'll do the magna charger, I couldn't afford it, but man do I want it.

Ryan that super charger is bad to the bone. I have dreamed of owning a car with a blower sense I started dreaming of owning a car. After seeing your ride I started searching for ls1 super chargers. At 6k I'll die still dreaming about it. For that much doe I can buy another ls1 and mount it in the huge trunk my 65 has. I'd be a modern version of that old hurst olds from the 60's.

Default Pin Outs

Where did you find the pin out diagrams to convert to a stand alone harness? Awesome project - hopefully my 65' Cutlass will see the same soon. Thanks for the post.

I went to the library and they had Alldata, i printed out all the diagrams for the engine. Currently I have GM Techline and use it. For the conversion I sat on this site for weeks and collected data as well as learning the EFI system, then over an afternoon I did the harness. Its not hard, I defiantly will never pay for a custom one. My $.02 is take the time to learn the EFI system and how it operates, it will make the conversion real easy and will prepare you for possible problems later.

I've done many of these conversions into Jeeps, trucks and my brother-in-laws 65 442, but I've always paid to have the harnesses done. I'd like to try one myself on my next project. This a dumb question I know, but what is "Alldata" and "GM Techline"? Thanks again.

Alldata is a second party vehicle repair database like Mitchell on Demand. Alldata has all the GM diagrams and information. GM Techline is the actual program GM techs use for their repairs at dealerships, has all the information you could possibly need.

One quick question here. Is your 10-bolt rearend the orgional one that came with the car? The reason I'm asking is thats what I have in my car and I'm looking for a posi unit and other upgrades was wondering which ones you have.

T/A girdle, 3.73 R&P, Eaton posi. all aftermarket. Low gears make the Olds motors fun.

Did some more wiring today. Laid the harness in for the final fit and cleaned some areas up. All of the connections on the top side are complete, when I bring it back over to Tim's (lsxyj) shop I will button up the bottom side. Lower radiator hose from the donor truck just needed a few inches trimmed off for a perfect fit. The FJO Racing wideband is mounted and wires ran. This upcoming week I will get my gas tank with in tank pump and get it installed. My fuel system will have a Trickflow TFX canister fuel filter midway up the passenger side frame rail and an Aeromotive compact EFI regulator on the passenger side firewall. -06 socket-less Aeroquip line will connect everything. September is my goal to fire it up. I am going to get HP tuners and do the tune myself with help from the wideband. A methanol system might not be to far away either.

I got my Spectre Industries EFI fuel tank today from MuscleRodz in Oklahoma City. Looks like it will work great. The only issue is the return port is a hose barb fitting, I will have to cut it off and put a -06 male fitting there. The output port is -08.
